Alright, so you wanna know about this Tyler fella and his, uh, “car-tee-ay” stuff, right? Sounds fancy. I ain’t never heard of no “car-tee-ay” myself, but the young folks these days, they like all sorts of shiny things. This Tyler, he’s a rapper, I hear. Kids listen to him, jumpin’ around like frogs in a rain puddle.

So, this Tyler, he likes them fancy watches. Not your regular tick-tock clocks, mind you. These are special, real special. They call ’em “vintage,” like old wine or somethin’. Means they’ve been around a while, I guess. And they cost a pretty penny, more money than I’ve seen in my whole life, probably.
One watch, they call it a “Tank Crash.” Sounds like somethin’ from a war movie, don’t it? But it’s gold, all shiny and yellow, made in Paris, France. Fancy, right? I seen pictures, and it looks all… melted. Like it got left out in the sun too long. But that’s the style, see? People like that kinda thing, I guess.
- He’s got another one, a “Pebble.” Like a rock, but a real expensive rock you wear on your wrist.
- They say there ain’t many of them around, maybe only six big ones. Imagine that! Six in the whole wide world. And this Tyler, he’s got one. Must be somethin’ special.
Now, I heard tell he went to some fancy auction, a place where they sell off all sorts of old rich people stuff. This one was all about “car-tee-ay,” so this Tyler fella, he must’ve been in hog heaven. They was sellin’ all sorts of these watches, and I bet he was lookin’ real hard, tryin’ to find the shiniest one of the bunch.
And it ain’t just watches neither, this “car-tee-ay” thing. They make all sorts of stuff, I reckon. Jewelry, I think. I heard about some fella makin’ rings, inspired by Tyler’s music. Now, I ain’t much for rings myself, but these kids, they love ’em. They got symbols and things, all related to Tyler and his songs. Sounds like a smart fella, this ring maker, caterin’ to the young’uns and their fixations.
See, most rappers, they wear big ol’ diamond-covered watches, the kind that blind you in the sunlight. But not this Tyler. He likes the old stuff, the stuff with history. He ain’t flashy like the rest of ’em. He’s got his own style, I guess. Like wearin’ your grandma’s old brooch, but way, way more expensive.

He was spotted at some fancy party too, wearing another one of these watches. A “Tank Cintree,” they called it. Long and skinny, looks like it might snap right off your wrist if you ain’t careful. But it’s “car-tee-ay,” so I bet it’s tougher than it looks. And it probably costs more than my whole house, ha!
So, that’s the gist of it, I reckon. This Tyler, he’s a rapper who likes fancy old watches. He ain’t like the other rappers with their bling and their flash. He likes the “vintage” stuff, the “car-tee-ay” stuff. Expensive things, rare things, things that tell a story. I don’t understand it myself, but the young folks seem to think it’s somethin’ special. And if Tyler likes it, well, then I guess it must be cool, in some way or another. Just don’t ask me how much it costs, ’cause I might just faint dead away!
At the end of the day, it’s his money, and he can spend it however he pleases. If he wants to buy fancy watches, that’s his business. Me, I’d rather spend my money on a good chicken dinner and a warm blanket. But that’s just me, I guess. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.
