Latest Simpsons collaboration: Dont miss these awesome team-ups.

Okay, so, I got this wild idea to mash up my two favorite things: The Simpsons and, well, anything else I’m into at the moment. This time, it was my favorite music album artwork. I’m no artist, but I figured, why not give it a shot? It all started with a simple thought, you know?

Latest Simpsons collaboration: Dont miss these awesome team-ups.

First, I grabbed my iPad and opened Procreate. Blank canvas staring back at me, totally intimidating. I spent a good hour just scrolling through Pinterest, looking for inspiration. I needed that perfect Simpsons pose, that one iconic moment that just screams “recreate me!”

  • I searched for “Simpsons iconic moments”.
  • I looked for “Simpsons funny poses”.
  • I even tried “Simpsons meme templates”, haha.

Finally, I found it! The classic scene where Homer is drooling over a donut. That was my base. Then came the hard part – picking the album art. I listened to my favorite record a couple of times, staring at the cover, trying to visualize Homer in that setting. I decided to go with the particular album, because the colors and theme fit so well.

I started sketching, very roughly, I must add. I erased a LOT. My Homer looked more like a lumpy yellow potato at first. But I kept at it, slowly tweaking the lines, trying to get that Simpsons style right. The donut was surprisingly tricky. I wanted it to look both delicious and cartoonish, which is a weird combo.

After the sketch, I moved on to the line art. This is where I really tried to be precise. I used a thin brush and zoomed in super close to make sure everything was smooth. It took forever, but it was worth it. The line art is what really makes it pop, you know?

Next up, colors! I picked the classic Simpsons yellow for Homer, of course. I used the eyedropper tool to grab the exact colors from a screenshot. For the background and other elements, I tried to match the colors of the album art as closely as possible. It was like a digital coloring book, only way more fun.

Finally, I added some shading and highlights. This is where it really came to life. I used a soft brush and played around with the opacity until it looked just right. It’s amazing how much difference a little shading can make. I’m not gonna lie, I felt pretty proud of myself at this point.

The Final Touches

I exported the finished image and posted it on my social media. I figured, even if no one else liked it, I had fun making it. And that’s what really matters, right? But hey, people seemed to dig it! It was a blast to create, and I’m already thinking about what my next Simpsons mashup will be. Maybe I’ll try a movie poster next time, hmm…
