You know, I saw this thing called Alien Ripley watch the other day. What a strange name. Sounds like something from outer space, you know? They say it’s from that movie, “Aliens.” I think I saw a little bit of that one time. Scary stuff. Lots of folks seem to like it though. This Alien Ripley watch, it’s like something from the future, all shiny and whatnot.
They say this lady, Ripley, she wore one in the movie. Tough gal, that Ripley. Fought them alien critters. This Alien Ripley watch, must be special if she wore it. They ain’t making them no more, the F-100 one, that is. Stopped making ’em way back when, same year as that Alien movie came out. Makes ’em worth more, I reckon. Hard to find two of them F-100s in good shape. And not cheap either. Nope, not cheap at all.
Now, they got this new one, called the A100. Looks like the old one, kinda. But it’s new, see? They made a bunch of ’em, 3000, they say. That’s a lot of watches. If you really, really like that Alien movie, and you got some money burning a hole in your pocket, maybe you want one of these Alien Ripley watch things.
Some folks, they go crazy for this stuff. They collect all them Alien things. Movies, them little toy figures, books, everything. I heard one fella say he didn’t even know there was a second Alien Ripley watch. Now he’s gotta have it! It’s like a sickness, I tell ya.

This whole Alien Ripley watch thing is mighty peculiar to me. But folks like what they like, I guess. Me? I’m happy with my old watch. Tells the time just fine. Don’t need no fancy Alien watch. This A100, it’s just a new thing trying to be like the old thing. The F-100, that’s the real deal. But gone now, like so many other things.
That first Alien movie, they say it’s a good one. Lots of good stuff in it, music and all. But the more of them Alien movies you see, the more you might not like ’em. They just keep doing the same thing over and over. Still, folks find ’em fun, I guess. The first one, it’s special. Holds up good, they say, even though it’s old. Good acting, good scenes, all that stuff.
They say that first Alien movie makes you think. About bad stuff, like companies doing wrong, and other things. The second one, Aliens, it’s put together better, they say. Don’t know much about that stuff. Just what I hear folks talking about. This Alien Ripley watch is tied to all that, somehow.
If you really love that Aliens movie, that James Cameron one, then maybe you gotta have this Alien Ripley watch. They made it special, you know, just like the movie. Only so many to go around. It’s like a treasure hunt, finding one of these watches. Especially that old F-100.
I remember when that movie came out. Big to-do. Folks lining up to see it. Now they’re lining up to buy this watch. Funny how things go. I guess it’s important to some people. This watch means a lot to them, brings back memories of the movie. That Ripley, she’s a hero to some folks. And this Alien Ripley watch, it’s like a piece of her. A piece of that scary alien world.
Well, I gotta get going. Got chores to do. Don’t have time to be thinking about no Alien Ripley watch. But if you see one, and you got the money, and you really like that movie, well, maybe you should get it. It’s your money, after all. Just don’t go getting too carried away with all that alien stuff. It ain’t real, you know. Just a movie. But that watch, that’s real. And for some folks, that’s all that matters. They want that Alien Ripley watch more than anything.
They used to call it the F-100, see? That was the old one. Hard to find now, they are, like finding a needle in a haystack. But this new one, the A100, it’s trying to be like the F-100. They are making lots of these Alien Ripley watch things, trying to make a buck, I suppose.
