Why I Bought the CVS Bubble Moisturizer

So last Thursday I was rushing through CVS to grab toothpaste when this pink bottle with “Bubble Moisturizer” screamed at me from the skincare aisle. Remembered seeing TikTok videos where people squeezed it and it foamed up like magic. Figured for $9 bucks, why not? Grabbed it along with my Colgate.

First Try Disaster

Couldn’t wait to test it after dinner. Pumped a nickel-sized blob onto my palm like regular lotion. BIG mistake. The second I rubbed my hands together, poof! White foam exploded everywhere – my shirt, the sink, even the cat’s tail. Had to wipe down the whole damn bathroom. Felt like an idiot.

Checked the instructions (should’ve done that first). Turns out you’re supposed to:

  • Pump directly onto dry skin
  • Wait 10 seconds for bubbles to form
  • Pat gently – no rubbing

Second Attempt Success

Next morning, put one pump straight on my cheek. Watched it fizz up like soda bubbles. Weird cool tingle while expanding. Pat-pat-patted it in until the foam disappeared. Left my skin feeling… sticky? Like glue residue. Not greasy though. Zero scent which I liked.

Kept using it twice daily for 8 days straight. Here’s the real talk:

  • Morning: Under makeup – foundation slid right off
  • Night: Woke up with shiny T-zone

Results After 2 Weeks

Checked old selfies to compare. Honestly? My pores looked smaller around the nose. BUT the trade-off sucked – started getting dry patches on my forehead. Asked my sister to test it on her oily skin. She called me after 3 days yelling about pimples popping up like mushrooms.

Final Thoughts

Would I buy again? Nope. The bubble gimmick’s fun for Instagram but useless in real life. Stickiness + dryness + pimple risk ain’t worth it. That $9 would be better spent on coffee. If you’ve got normal skin and want a party trick? Maybe try it. But if you actually care about your face? Skip this bubbly nonsense.
