Okay, so I decided to check out the Ross Dress for Less on Seaside Avenue the other day. It’s the one right there in Honolulu, 333 Seaside Ave, you probably know it if you’re around Waikiki. Just felt like seeing if I could find anything good, you know how it is.

Getting Inside

Walked over there, maybe it was late morning, early afternoon. Place was already buzzing. Lots of folks milling about, which isn’t really a surprise for that location. It’s always kind of busy. First impression walking in? Yep, it’s a Ross. Stuff is kind of everywhere. Racks looked pretty full.

The Hunt Begins

I usually start with the men’s clothes. Headed back there. You really gotta push through the racks sometimes, they pack ’em tight. Spent a good while just thumbing through shirts. Lots of aloha shirts, obviously. Some looked okay, others looked like they’d seen better days. Sizing was all over the map, like usual. You find a Small next to an XXL sometimes. Takes patience. Found one shirt that looked promising, put it in the cart.

Moved on to shorts and pants. Same deal. Lots of digging required. Checked out some shorts, didn’t find my size in anything I actually liked. The pants section looked a bit chaotic so I didn’t spend too much time there.

Took a detour through the shoe aisles. Man, that area can be a real mess. Boxes everywhere, shoes separated from their partners. Gave it a quick scan but didn’t feel like digging through the piles today. Sometimes you score big there, but you gotta be ready to work for it.

Also did a quick walk through the home goods section. Linens, kitchen stuff, random decor bits. Always interesting to see what weird things end up there. Didn’t really need anything, just browsing mostly. Didn’t grab anything this time around.

  • Scanned the shirts thoroughly.
  • Checked shorts briefly.
  • Avoided deep-diving into shoes.
  • Glanced at home goods.

Checking Out

Ended up just sticking with the one shirt I found earlier. Seemed like a decent find for the price. Made my way to the front. The lines looked a bit long, wrapped around those rope things. But honestly, they moved quicker than I thought they would. Maybe waited about 10 minutes, tops. Got to the cashier, paid for my shirt, and got out of there.

So, that was the trip. Pretty standard Ross run. It’s all about the hunt. You go in, you dig around, maybe you find something, maybe you don’t. It delivered exactly what I expected: a chance at a deal if you put in the effort. Worth it? Yeah, for the shirt I guess. But you gotta be prepared for the chaos.
