Okay, here’s a blog post about cutting the front hair, based on the instructions and the example you provided:

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands today and trim my bangs. They were getting way too long, always in my eyes, you know? I figured, how hard could it be? Famous last words, right?

First, I gathered my tools. I’m no professional, but I do have a pair of those haircutting scissors – the ones with the really thin blades. I also grabbed a comb and a couple of hair clips. And, of course, I positioned myself in front of the bathroom mirror, the best lighting in the house for this kind of operation.

I dampened my bangs a little. I read somewhere that it’s easier to cut wet hair, makes sense to me. I tried to see how long i want it to be, but this is hard. Then, I combed them straight down, nice and smooth. My plan was just to take a little bit off the ends. Nothing drastic, just a trim to hold me over until I could make it to the salon. The expert online says “Don’t overdo it,”. So I won’t do it.

Now, here’s where it got a little tricky. I remembered someone saying to cut upwards into the bangs, not straight across. Apparently, it creates a softer look. So, holding the scissors vertically, I started snipping away. Little by little, I worked my way across my forehead. I was so focused on not messing up that I didn’t realize how much I was actually taking off.

I use my finger pulling the hair upward. They says it is the easiest way to make it even. So I did it.

  • Started slowly. Work my way to the front.
  • Checked the evenness in the mirror.
  • Just keep doing it.

The Result

Okay, let’s be real. It’s not perfect. It’s definitely shorter than I intended, and there might be a few uneven spots if you look really closely. But you know what? It’s not a disaster. My bangs are out of my eyes, and I learned a thing or two about cutting hair. I even think I did a pretty okay job. They’re a little more feathered than usual, which I’m actually kind of digging. It’s a softer look, just like I was going for.

Would I do it again? Maybe. I mean, it’s definitely cheaper than going to the salon every few weeks. But next time, I’ll probably be a little more careful and maybe watch a few more tutorials first. Practice makes perfect, right? And who knows, maybe I’ll even get good at it! Or maybe I’ll just stick to trimming my bangs and leave the rest to the professionals. We’ll see. After all it is not out of control. I think I did a good job.

And there you go, that is my story about cutting my own front hair. Hope you enjoy it!
