Want an aesthetically stacked lobe piercing? Find out what jewelry works best for this look.

Okay, so I’d been seeing these stacked lobe piercings popping up everywhere, you know? Like, little clusters of studs climbing up the earlobe. Looked pretty neat, subtle but cool. My own lobes felt a bit bare, just the standard single piercing I’ve had forever. Thought maybe it was time to add a little something extra.

Getting Started – The Idea Phase

It wasn’t some grand plan. Just saw a few pictures, liked the aesthetic. Decided I wanted a couple more holes placed closely together, sort of vertically stacked above my main piercing. Didn’t want anything too complicated, just simple and clean. The main thing was finding someone decent to actually poke the holes.

Finding a Piercer & The Appointment

I did a quick search for reputable piercing studios nearby. You don’t wanna mess around with this stuff, right? Found a place with solid reviews, looked professional. Booked an appointment. When I went in, I basically just pointed at my ear and showed the piercer a rough idea of where I wanted the new piercings. We chatted for a minute, he marked up a couple of dots with a pen, making sure the spacing looked right. Asked me if I liked the placement. Looked good to me, so we went ahead.

The Actual Piercing Part

Honestly, it was super quick. I sat back, took a breath. He did the first one – quick pinch, maybe a tiny sting, but really not bad at all. Then the second one right above it. Same deal. He popped in some small, simple titanium studs. That was it. Over in minutes.

First impressions?

  • Looked pretty cool immediately, even with the initial redness.
  • Felt a tiny bit tender, obviously.
  • The placement seemed spot on.

Healing & Aftercare – The Not-So-Fun Bit

This is where you gotta be patient. The piercer gave me the rundown on aftercare. Basically:

  • Clean it twice a day with sterile saline solution. Just spray it on, let it air dry or gently pat with clean paper towel.
  • Don’t touch it! Seriously, keep grubby fingers away.
  • Try not to sleep on it. This was the hardest part for me, kept waking myself up.
  • Be careful with clothes, hair, headphones.

It was mostly smooth sailing. Had a tiny irritation bump pop up on the top piercing after a few weeks, probably ’cause I snagged it or slept on it funny. Just kept up with the cleaning, made extra sure not to irritate it, and it settled down after a week or so. Healing takes time, you just gotta let your body do its thing.

The Final Look – Worth It?

After a good few months, once everything felt totally healed and settled, I swapped out the initial plain studs. Put in some tiny gold ball studs I’d picked out. Changing them was easy enough. And yeah, I really dig the final look. It’s exactly what I wanted – just a subtle extra detail, makes my ear look a bit more ‘decorated’ without being over the top. Stacking them close together gives that nice clustered effect. Definitely happy I went through with it. Adds a nice little touch.
