Alright, so I’ve been on this kick lately, right? Trying to relive my childhood, one piece of memorabilia at a time. And what’s more iconic than the original Space Jam movie? Nothing, that’s what. But I didn’t want just any reminder, I wanted the reminder – the shoes. The original Air Jordans that MJ wore in the movie.

So, the hunt began. I started by scouring online, you know, the usual spots. But man, was it a jungle out there! So many fakes, so many ridiculously overpriced listings. I felt like I was wading through quicksand.
First Attempt: Total Fail.
- Found a pair that looked promising.
- Price seemed almost too good to be true.
- It WAS too good to be true.
- They ended up being very obvious fakes.
I learned a valuable lesson, dont trust a price that’s too low. I needed to up my game.
Second Attempt: Getting Warmer.
I started digging deeper. I joined some online sneakerhead communities, asked around, read countless forum posts. It was like learning a new language, all these terms and abbreviations. “DS,” “OG,” “BIN” – it was dizzying. But, I started to get a feel for the market, what to look for, and how to spot a genuine pair.

- Joined sneaker forums.
- Learned the lingo.
- Started to understand pricing.
I found a few potential sellers. One seller had some great photos, really detailed, of a pair that looked promising. I decided to reach out.
The Real Deal(Almost)
We messaged back and forth for a good week. I asked a million questions. About the condition, the history of the shoes, everything. I even asked for more pictures, close-ups of the stitching, the soles, the box.
I was nervous, like, real nervous. This was a big chunk of change I was about to drop. But the seller was patient, answered all my questions, and seemed legit. We finally agreed on a price, and I held my breath as I hit “send” on the payment.
Third try success:

- Found a seemingly legit seller.
- Asked a TON of questions.
- Negotiated a price.
- Took the plunge!
A few days later, the package arrived. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. And there they were. They weren’t perfect, they had some wear and tear, you know, signs of age. But that just added to their charm. They were real. The original Space Jam Jordans.
I was holding a piece of my childhood, A lot of history right there in my hands. Totally worth the hunt, the hassle, and the hole it burned in my wallet.
So yeah, that’s my story. My quest for the holy grail of movie sneakers.
It was a wild ride, but I finally got my hands on a pair of original Space Jam Jordans. Mission accomplished!
