This Ouidad, I tell ya, what a life that woman’s got! Heard she sold her hair stuff, that Ouidad thing, for a whole heap of money. She was doing hair for 40 years, can you believe it? Forty years! My old back aches just thinkin’ about it. Now she just tells folks how to start their own hair places. Ouidad owner, that’s what they call her, used to be anyway.
This Ouidad, she ain’t from around here. Came over from, where was it? Lebanon, I think. When she was just a little sprout, 16 or so. Married a fella named Peter Wise. Good for her, good for her.
Then this other big company, JD Beauty, they went and bought Ouidad. I reckon they got a lot of different things now, sellin’ all sorts of hair potions. This Ouidad, she’s the one they say knows all about them curly-headed folks. Ouidad owner she ain’t, not no more, but she sure knows curls.
I had me a day off, finally. Just sat around and did nothin’.
Lots of folks love them Ouidad products. See ’em talkin’ about it all the time. Some gal was sayin’ how you can book your hair appointment online now. Land sakes, online! What will they think of next? Ouidad owner or not, that brand sure is popular.
- Them curls, they just keep on comin’!
- Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout National Relaxation Day. On a Sunday, no less! Guess that means you gotta relax twice as hard.
- Some fancy magazine, Cosmopolitan, I think it was, said that Ouidad cleansing oil is good for dry hair. Must be somethin’ to it if them fancy folks are sayin’ so.
This one lady, she’s got some title, “Curl Queen”. Sounds made up to me. But she’s always showin’ off them curls. Uses that Ouidad stuff, I bet. And some fancy blow dryer. Dyson, I think it’s called. Ouidad owner might not be Ouidad herself no more, but her name’s still all over the place. Wonder if she gets a cut still.
There was this fella, Richie, talkin’ ’bout respect and power. Old school, he called it. Sounded like he know what he was saying, even if I didn’t understand half of it.
Anyway, this Ouidad, she made a name for herself. From Lebanon to here, makin’ all that money on hair. Good for her, I say. Wish I had me some of that secret to curls. My hair’s always been as straight as a stick. Maybe I should give that Ouidad stuff a try.
JD Beauty, they must be happy they bought Ouidad. Bet they’re makin’ a pretty penny. Ouidad owner might be just givin’ advice now, but her name’s worth a lot, I reckon. Forty years doin’ hair, you learn a thing or two, I guess.
That relaxation day sounds mighty nice. Maybe I’ll have me another one of them tomorrow. Just sit on the porch and watch the world go by. Don’t need no fancy hair products for that.
This Ouidad, she’s somethin’ else. Built a whole empire on curls. Wonder if she ever gets tired of talkin’ about hair. Forty years is a long time. But hey, if it makes you rich, maybe it’s worth it. Ouidad owner she used to be, now she’s just livin’ the good life, I suppose.

That JD Beauty, they’re smart cookies. Saw a good thing and snatched it up. Now they got all them curly-headed folks buyin’ their stuff. Business is a funny thing. One day you’re doin’ hair, the next day you’re tellin’ other folks how to do it. Life’s full of surprises, ain’t it?
I still can’t get over that online bookin’ thing. Imagine that, settin’ up your hair appointment on a computer. What’s this world comin’ to? Guess I’m just old-fashioned. But hey, if it works, it works.
- This Ouidad, what a story.
- Curls, curls, and more curls.
- That JD Beauty sure is makin’ moves.
Well, that’s all I know about that Ouidad. Heard it all around. Seems like everyone’s talkin’ about her. From Lebanon to here, makin’ a fortune on them curls. Good for her. Just goes to show, you never know what life’s gonna throw at ya.
