Okay, so I’ve been seeing “cade wood nude” floating around, and honestly, I was curious. I’m not usually one for super woody scents, I tend to lean towards the fresher, brighter stuff. But the “nude” part intrigued me. It sounded…clean? Minimalist? I had to try it.

First, I looked up what cade wood even is. Turns out, it’s from a type of juniper tree, and the oil is extracted by distilling the wood. People have been using it for ages, apparently, for all sorts of things.
Then came the fun part – finding it! It wasn’t as easy as I thought. Not every store carries cade wood essential oil, especially not one that seemed high-quality. I ended up ordering a small bottle online from a place that seemed pretty legit.
- First impression: Whoa, smoky. Like, REALLY smoky. I definitely wasn’t getting “clean” at this point. More like…campfire.
- Experiment time: I decided to dilute it, BIG TIME. A single drop in, like, a tablespoon of carrier oil (I used jojoba, ’cause it’s my go-to).
Mixed it up, dabbed a tiny bit on my wrist…and waited. The smokiness was still there, but it was softer now, more…grounded. I could smell a bit of the juniper, that sort of sharp, piney scent, coming through.
The Nude part?
I think I get it now. It’s not “nude” as in, “nothing there.” It’s “nude” as in, stripped down, raw, elemental. It’s like the wood itself, without anything added. I kept sniffing my wrist throughout the day. It changed a lot. Sometimes it was more smoky, sometimes more woody, sometimes even a little bit sweet.

I did a few more dilution because my skin is a little sensitive,
and it’s better.
Would I wear this every day? Probably not. But it’s definitely interesting. It makes me think of a quiet cabin in the woods, a crackling fireplace, maybe a starry night. It’s a scent that makes you feel…present. Kind of like a reset button. I’m glad I tried it, even if it’s not exactly what I expected. It’s definitely a unique experience!
