Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Lagerfeld, yeah? Lagerfeld photo, that’s what they’re callin’ it. I ain’t no fancy art critic or nothin’, but I seen pictures, ya know? And this fella, he sure took a lot of ‘em.
Who’s this Lagerfeld anyway?
Well, from what I hear, he was a big shot in the fashion world. Clothes and stuff. But he also liked takin’ pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. They say he was like that Warhol fella, but for fashion. I dunno who Warhol is neither, but they say he was important, so Lagerfeld musta been too.
- They say he had white hair, like real white, ya know? Like a cotton ball.
- And always wore these dark sunglasses, even inside. Maybe his eyes were tired, who knows.
- Gloves with no fingers, fancy ones, I guess.
- And these stiff collars, starched they call ‘em, standin’ up all high and mighty.
Sounds like a character, this Lagerfeld. And old too, they say he was 85 when he passed. That’s a long time to be takin’ pictures, ain’t it?
What kind of pictures did he take?
Well, they say he took all kinds. Fashion pictures, of course, pretty ladies in fancy clothes. But also pictures of people’s…body parts? That sounds a little weird, don’t it? But I guess that’s art for ya. And he took pictures of famous folks, movie stars and such. Portraits, they call ‘em. Big ones, too, they say, like the size of a door.
I saw some of these pictures online, you know, on that internet thingy my grandson showed me. Some were in black and white, some in color. Some were pretty, some were…well, I didn’t understand ‘em. But that’s okay, I guess. Art’s not for everyone, or so they say.
Where can you see these Lagerfeld photos?
Well, they had a big show of ‘em, an “exhibition” they call it, at some museum. I think it was in Georgia, or some place down south. They picked out a bunch of his pictures, big ones, and put ‘em up on the wall for folks to look at. And I guess they had some of his pictures at a fair too, an “art and antiques fair,” whatever that is. Sounded fancy.
Seems like they made a big fuss over this Lagerfeld fella and his photos after he passed away. Happens a lot, doesn’t it? Folks don’t appreciate ya ‘til you’re gone. But I guess his pictures are still around for folks to see, so that’s somethin’.
Was he a good photographer?
Well, like I said, I ain’t no expert. But folks seem to think so. They say he had a good eye, that he could make things look interesting, even if they weren’t. And he sure took a lot of pictures, so he musta been serious about it. I guess if you take enough pictures, some of ‘em are bound to be good, right?
And he worked with all them famous models and magazines. He musta been good to get all them fancy jobs. They don’t just hire anybody, ya know?
So, what’s the big deal about Lagerfeld photos?
I guess it’s because he was a big name, and because his pictures are different. They ain’t just snapshots, ya know? They’re…artistic. Or so they say. And they show ya a different world, a world of fashion and famous people and…body parts, I guess. It’s not my world, that’s for sure, but it’s interesting to look at, sometimes. And now, with all them pictures online, everybody can see ‘em, even an old lady like me.
In conclusion, this Lagerfeld fella, he took a lot of pictures. Some folks like ‘em, some folks don’t. But they’re out there, and they’re part of his story. And that’s about all I know about Lagerfeld photo. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
