Now, this year’s theme, somethin’ about “Sleeping Beauties” and wakin’ up fashion. I ain’t quite sure what that means, but it sounds like a whole lotta hooey to me. But them fashion folks, they love their fancy words and complicated ideas. Me? I just like clothes that keep ya warm and covered, but what do I know? I’m just an old woman.
Anyways, back to Maluma. He was wearin’ red, I think. Or maybe it was burgundy? One of them fancy colors. Looked sharp, though. Stood out from the crowd, he did. All them other fellas, they looked alright too, I guess. That Hemsworth fella, he was there, and that Bad Bunny fella. Lots of big names, they tell me. But Maluma, he caught my eye. Maybe it’s ’cause he’s got that somethin’ special, that charm, ya know? Or maybe it was just the bright color.

It’s like a circus, but with more expensive clothes. And the prices they pay for them outfits! Lord have mercy, you could buy a whole farm for what some of them dresses cost. Makes no sense to me, but then again, I ain’t got a lick of sense when it comes to fashion.
But you know, it’s kinda fun to see all the different styles. Some folks go all out, with big hats and feathers and all sorts of craziness. Others keep it simple, but elegant. It’s like a fashion show, but on a much bigger scale. And everyone’s a critic, I tell ya. Folks on the internet, they’re the worst. They’ll rip ya to shreds if they don’t like your outfit.
So, Maluma at the Met Gala 2024. He made a statement, that’s for sure. Whether it was a good statement or a bad statement, well, that’s up to you to decide. Me? I thought he looked just fine. But then again, what do I know? I’m just an old lady who likes to see things neat and tidy. I like looking at those showstopping looks on the red carpet, though. Gives me somethin’ to talk about with the girls at the market.
This fashion’s biggest night, it sure is somethin’. Folks from all over, gatherin’ together to celebrate… clothes. Seems kinda silly when you think about it, but I guess it’s important to some folks. And hey, if it makes ‘em happy, then more power to ‘em. Me? I’ll stick to my overalls and my comfy shoes. But I’ll still take a peek at them pictures, just to see what all the fuss is about.
