Okay, so today I decided to dive into the whole “Love You To The Moon and To Saturn” thing. I’d seen it floating around, the phrase, you know, and I was curious. Turns out, it’s a line from a Taylor Swift song, “Seven” from her Folklore album. who knew?
My Little Deep Dive
First,I listened the song. I mean that’s the starting point, right? I pulled it up on a platform, and gave it a listen. It’s a sweet, kind of nostalgic song. I could definately hear the line and understand why people love it.
Then, I got to thinking, why “moon” and “Saturn”? I mean, the moon, okay, classic, romantic. Saturn? That got my brain ticking. So, I did a little digging(searching on the internet).
- Moon: Obviously, the moon is all about love and romance. “I love you to the moon and back,” that’s a classic saying, right?
- Saturn: This is where it gets interesting. Saturn is way, way further out than the moon. So, it’s like, taking that love and multiplying it. It is not just nearby love, it’s a HUGE, cosmic love.
Next,I Started looking around at how people were using the phrase, it’s all over on gifts, cards, and even tattoos. So it’s a way of telling someone you love them a whole lot. More than just the usual “to the moon and back.”
Wrapping up
I have successfully understood this phrase, and know where it came from. It’s basically a super-charged way of saying “I love you.” It’s saying your love is bigger, grander, like, reaching across the solar system. And I find it quite cute.
