Okay, here’s my blog post about watching Christopher Nolan’s films:

Best Christopher Nolan Movies: Ranked & Where to Watch!

So, I decided to finally get around to watching all of Christopher Nolan’s movies. I’d seen some of them before, like The Dark Knight and Inception, and everybody always raves about him, so I figured, why not?

I started with Following, his first movie. It’s super short, only like 70 minutes, and shot in black and white. It’s about this guy who, well, follows people. Pretty simple premise, but you can already see Nolan’s thing for messing with timelines. I watched it, and I was like, “Okay, this is interesting…”

My Nolan Journey

  • Following: Black and white, a little confusing, but a good start.
  • Memento: Whoa. This one really messed with my head. I watched it twice, back-to-back, just to try and figure out what was going on. The whole reverse order thing is crazy.
  • Insomnia: This one was more straightforward. Al Pacino is great, as always. It’s a solid thriller, but not as mind-bending as the others.
  • Batman Begins: I love superhero movies, so this was right up my alley. It’s a great origin story, and it really sets the tone for the whole trilogy.
  • The Prestige: Magicians! Rivalry! Secrets! I had to pay close attention to this one. Lots of twists and turns.
  • The Dark Knight: Heath Ledger as the Joker. Enough said. This movie is a masterpiece. I’ve seen it a bunch of times already.
  • Inception: Dreams within dreams within dreams. I got a little lost in this one, but it’s visually stunning.
  • The Dark Knight Rises: A good conclusion to the Batman trilogy. Bane is a pretty intimidating villain.
  • Interstellar: Space travel! Wormholes! Time dilation! This one is really ambitious, and it’s got some really emotional moments. I actually cried a little.
  • Dunkirk: War movie, but told in a very Nolan way. Three different timelines interweaving. It’s intense. It was a little confusing.
  • Tenet: Okay, I’m going to be honest. I watched this one, and I’m still not entirely sure what happened. Inverted entropy? Time moving backwards? I need to watch it again…and probably read some explanations online.
  • Oppenheimer: Creating a bomb… This really a big deal. I watched it and feel so complicated.

So, that’s it! I did it. I watched all of Nolan’s major films. Some I loved, some I liked, and some I’m still trying to wrap my head around. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience. Dude definitely knows how to make a movie that keeps you thinking.
