Dark colors, some modern furniture, a bit of an industrial look… that was the general direction I was heading.
Then, I decided to tackle the living room first. It’s where I spend most of my time chilling and having friends over, so it had to be perfect. I took everything out, and it was a mess. But a good kind of mess, like the start of something awesome.
I painted the walls a deep charcoal gray. It was a bold move, but it instantly changed the whole feel of the room. Made it feel more… grown-up, somehow. I then started assembling furniture. I managed to find a really cool leather sofa that was both comfy and super stylish. It was a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it.
Next, I focused on the lighting. I swapped out the old ceiling light for some track lighting. I installed a couple of dimmer switches so I could adjust the mood, you know, for movie nights or when I have company. I also got some floor lamps with an industrial vibe to add to the overall aesthetic.

I even set up a little minibar in the corner. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s perfect for having a few friends over for drinks.
The Final Touches
After all that, I spent a few days just tweaking things. I moved stuff around, added some personal touches, like photos and mementos. It really started to feel like my place.
Honestly, it was a lot of work, but seeing it all come together was so satisfying. Now, my apartment is exactly how I envisioned it. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish, and it’s totally me.
