Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post based on your instructions, detailing my experience with an “adidas supreme” project.

My Adidas Supreme Adventure: From Start to (Almost) Finish

Alright folks, so I decided to dive into a little project that combined two brands I kinda dig: Adidas and Supreme. I know, I know, it’s been done before, but I wanted to put my own spin on it. Let me walk you through what went down.

The Idea: I wanted to create a custom pair of Adidas sneakers, but not just any sneakers. I envisioned something that screamed both Adidas’ classic sporty vibe and Supreme’s street style edge. Something loud, maybe a bit obnoxious, but definitely unique.

The Hunt for Materials: First things first, I needed the base shoe. I ended up grabbing a pair of plain white Adidas Stan Smiths – figured they were a clean canvas to start with. Then, the real fun began: sourcing Supreme patches, fabric scraps (think that iconic red and white!), and even some stencils online. Craft stores became my new hangout spot. I also went thrifting for some cheap supreme apparel to cut up. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

The Design Process: Okay, this is where things got a little messy. I started sketching out ideas on paper, trying to figure out the best placement for the patches and how to incorporate the Supreme fabric. A lot of crumpled paper ended up in the trash. Eventually, I settled on a design that had the Supreme logo subtly integrated into the Adidas stripes, with smaller patches scattered around the heel and sides. My goal was to keep it somewhat balanced, not just a random explosion of logos.

The Actual Work: Time to get my hands dirty! I started by carefully cutting out the Supreme fabric to fit the Adidas stripes. This was way harder than it looked. Then, using fabric glue (and a whole lot of patience), I started attaching the fabric. Let me tell you, fabric glue is NOT forgiving. Mistakes were made. There were a few moments where I almost gave up and tossed the whole project in the bin.

Next up were the patches. I decided to sew these on for extra security, because I didn’t trust the glue alone. My sewing skills are, shall we say, limited, so the stitching is definitely not perfect. But hey, adds to the “custom” look, right?

The “Almost” Finish: So, where am I now? One shoe is pretty much done. The other one is… well, it’s getting there. Let’s just say it’s been a learning experience. I ran out of red fabric, so I need to get more. I also messed up the placement of a patch on the second shoe, and now I’m debating whether to try and remove it (risking damage) or just live with it. I am thinking of adding some sharpie art on the sole too.

What I Learned: This project taught me a few things. One, customizing sneakers is harder than it looks on YouTube. Two, patience is key. And three, embrace the imperfections – they make it unique! Will I actually wear these things out in public? Maybe. Maybe not. But I had fun making them, and that’s what matters.

  • Tip: Use a good quality fabric glue – the cheap stuff just doesn’t cut it.
  • Tip: Don’t be afraid to experiment – it’s just a pair of shoes!
  • Tip: Prepare for your hands to get REALLY sticky.

Future Plans?

For sure making some more custom shoes, maybe next time I’ll try to do some sneakers with a different theme. I think I’ll try to paint the shoes next time, instead of patches, seems easier to manage.
