Okay, so, it’s Sneaker Day 2024. I’ve been waiting for this for a while, ever since I heard about it last year. I think it was August 8th, the same as this year. Feels like a yearly thing from Nike now. I got up early, really early. My alarm was set, and I was ready to go. I jumped straight onto the Nike SNKRS app, as soon as I grabbed my phone.
I started digging around on the app, checking out what they had. They had all sorts of stuff like panel discussions with some big names. I watched a bit of a video feature, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I was hoping to get my hands on some of the exclusive drops. So I skipped those and looked for the new releases.
I saw a few things I liked, but nothing really jumped out at me. They had the Nike Air Max Dn Anthracite Light Crimson, which looked pretty cool, and the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 Sport Blue, but I wasn’t sure about the colors. I already have the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 Sport Red from last year, so I didn’t really need another one that looked so similar. They also had the Nike Air Max Pulse, but it wasn’t really my style.

After looking around for a while, I finally decided on a pair of sneakers that I really liked. I quickly added them to my cart and went to checkout. I put in all my information and crossed my fingers that I would be able to get them. I hit submit, and there, it was a success! I managed to snag a pair!
Now, here’s a pro tip for anyone who buys sneakers: always spray them with a good weatherproofing spray. I learned this the hard way. It helps protect them from water, dirt, and all that nasty stuff. Trust me, it’s worth it.
Once my order was confirmed, I started to explore more of the app. They had some interactive games, which were kind of fun, but not really my thing. They also mentioned having a behind-the-scenes look at Nike’s design and manufacturing process, but I couldn’t find it. Maybe it was hidden somewhere, or maybe I missed it.
I spent the rest of the day casually browsing the app, watching a few videos, and reading some interviews, but I was mostly just excited about the sneakers I had bought. I started thinking about what I would wear with them and where I would go to show them off.
Overall, it was a pretty good Sneaker Day. I’m glad I woke up early and got on the app right away. I managed to get a cool pair of sneakers, and I learned a few things along the way. I’m already looking forward to next year’s Sneaker Day. I wonder what they’ll have then. Who knows, maybe I’ll find something even better next year. I’ll definitely be setting my alarm again!
