Okay, so, I was bored the other day and I remembered this thing called “Playgirl” that I heard about a while ago. I guess it was supposed to be like Playboy but for women, or something. I mean, I wasn’t really expecting much, but I figured I’d give it a look.

First, I did a little digging online, and I found out that they have this new website now, it’s called *. I think they launched it back in 2022. Apparently, it’s got a bunch of exclusive stuff, like interviews with celebrities and, you know, the usual centerfolds.
So, I headed over to the website, not really sure what to expect. The site looked pretty slick, I guess. There are a lot of pretty faces on the front page. Anyway, I started browsing around, and there’s definitely a lot of content there.
They’ve got these interviews with guys from reality TV shows, like Survivor and Big Brother and those dating shows. I didn’t really recognize any of the names, but I guess if you’re into that stuff, it might be cool. Then there are the centerfolds, which, yeah, they’re pretty much what you’d expect. Lots of guys showing off their, uh, assets.
I noticed they also have erotic fiction, which I didn’t really get into, but I guess some people might like that. And there are articles too, on all kinds of topics. It’s all pretty titillating stuff, if you know what I mean.
I spent a little while looking around, but honestly, it’s not really my thing. I mean, I get the appeal, I guess, but it just felt a little too much like they were trying to copy Playboy, but with guys instead of girls.

I did come across this one thing that was kind of interesting, though. I guess Playgirl started way back in the 70s, and it was supposed to be like, a feminist response to Playboy. Which, I don’t know, seems kind of weird to me, but whatever. I think it might’ve even gone out of business at some point, but now it’s back, I guess.
Oh, and one other thing – I saw you could actually buy old issues of the magazine online. Like, from the 80s and 90s and stuff. There was this one post selling a whole bunch of them, and they were saying the covers would look good framed as art. Which, I don’t know, maybe?
Anyway, in the end, I just closed the website and moved on. It wasn’t a total waste of time, I guess. I learned a few things, and it was kind of interesting to see what all the fuss was about. But yeah, not really something I’d go back to. Maybe it’s just not for me. If you’re curious, you can check it out, but don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Here’s a little breakdown of what I found:
- Website: *
- Content:
- Exclusive celebrity interviews (mostly reality TV guys)
- Centerfolds (lots of naked dudes)
- Erotic fiction
- Original articles
- History: Started in 1973 as a “feminist response” to Playboy
- Old Issues: Available for purchase online
So yeah, that’s my Playgirl adventure. Not exactly life-changing, but hey, at least I can say I tried it, right?
