Okay, let’s talk about Whitney Houston in the 80’s. What a time to be alive, right? I remember it like it was yesterday. I was really into her music back then.

So, first off, I got into this whole thing because I stumbled upon her debut album – you know, the self-titled one, “Whitney Houston,” released in February 1985. Man, that album was a game-changer. It was like, boom, Arista Records hit the jackpot again.

I started digging into the tracks. “You Give Good Love,” that was one of the first songs that really grabbed me. But then there were those three number-one hits, one after another! “Saving All My Love For You,” which, by the way, earned her a Grammy, “How Will I Know,” and “Greatest Love of All.” That last one, phew, it became an anthem. I mean, everyone was singing it.

Then I got curious, you know, about her style. The 80’s were all about the bling, and Whitney was the queen of it. I went through a ton of pictures and videos. Sequins everywhere! Mini dresses, gowns, jackets – you name it. She rocked them on stage, at events, just everywhere. Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. It was her thing, and she owned it.

I also started watching her music videos. I watched her “I’m Every Woman.” And “Million Dollar Bill” from her final studio album, “I Look to You.” Those videos, they’re like a time capsule. Her voice, the fashion, the whole vibe – it’s pure 80s magic.

But it wasn’t just about the music and the looks. I realized how much she broke barriers. They called her “The Voice,” and for a good reason. Her singing was just… otherworldly. It had this gospel feel to it, so powerful and emotional. She became one of the best-selling solo artists ever, you know?

I read about her comeback in the late 2000s too. She had some tough times, with rehab and a divorce, but she came back. It was inspiring to see her still going strong after all that.

All this digging around, it just made me appreciate her even more. It’s sad that she’s gone, but her music and what she did for the industry, it’s all still here. Her legacy is very much alive.

So yeah, that’s my little journey into the world of Whitney Houston in the 80s. It was a blast from the past, and I’m glad I could share it with you all.
