Which platform gucci sandals are best for your feet? Use this easy guide to pick the perfect style!

Alright, let’s talk about these platform Gucci sandals. I’d been seeing them, you know? Everywhere online, couple of times out in the wild. Started thinking, maybe I need to see what the fuss is about.

So, I finally decided to just go for it. The whole process of ordering felt a bit surreal, spending that much on sandals. But hey, you gotta try things, right? That’s my whole deal. When the box arrived, it was, well, a Gucci box. Felt fancy, heavy. Did the whole unboxing thing. Pulled them out. They definitely look substantial, heavy even, just holding them. The platform is no joke.

First time trying them on, I just walked around my living room. Felt kinda tall, which was weird for sandals. They weren’t immediately uncomfortable, but they weren’t like walking on clouds either. Strapped them on tight. Had that distinct Gucci look, the stripes, the logo. No mistaking them.

Then came the real test: wearing them outside. I didn’t go crazy, just a casual walk, maybe grab some coffee. Walking felt different. You have to be more deliberate because of the platform height. Noticed a few people looking down at my feet. Can’t tell if it was admiration or just curiosity about the chunky things on my feet.

Here’s the thing I logged after wearing them a few times:

  • They are heavy. You feel the weight after a while. Definitely not for a day where you plan on miles of walking.
  • The platform makes you conscious of uneven pavement. Almost rolled my ankle once. Gotta pay attention.
  • They do look stylish, in that specific chunky, logo-heavy way. They make a statement, for sure.
  • Comfort? It’s okay for short periods. I wouldn’t call them comfortable like my go-to walking shoes, obviously. But they weren’t torture devices either, which I half expected.

Longer Term Wear Notes

Wore them to an outdoor brunch thing. They looked good with the outfit, felt kinda cool. But after standing around for an hour or two, my feet started to feel the strain. The weight, mostly. And the straps started to feel a bit tight, though maybe I just fastened them too much.

I also tried wearing them on a slightly warmer day. My feet got sweaty pretty fast where the straps are. Not ideal. They seem more like a ‘look cool for a bit’ shoe than an ‘all-day summer staple’.

So, the practice? It was an experience. Got them, tried them, wore them in specific situations. They serve a purpose, which is mainly looking like Gucci platform sandals. They aren’t practical everyday wear, not for me anyway. I grab them when the outfit calls for that specific look and I know I won’t be walking a marathon. It was an interesting experiment, trying out something so hyped. Now I know.
