So, guys, I gotta tell you about this wild experiment I did. You know those Crocs, right? The comfy, rubbery shoes everyone loves to hate? Well, I decided to take a pair and turn them into high heels. Yeah, you heard that right, Balenciaga Crocs heels. Sounds crazy, I know, but stick with me here.
It all started when I was browsing online, and I saw that Balenciaga actually did a collab with Crocs, making these platform clogs and even some stilettos. I thought, “Hold up, that is ridiculous and I am intrigued!” I saw that Justin Bieber even wore a pair of the platform ones to the Grammys. I mean, if the Biebs can rock them, why can’t I, right?
First, I got myself a pair of regular black Crocs. Then came the fun part, finding the heels. I went to a bunch of thrift stores and finally found a pair of old pumps with a decent heel height, about 4.5 inches, nothing to crazy just a small high heel. I snatched those up real quick. The heels were black, too, so they matched the Crocs perfectly.
Next, I had to figure out how to attach these bad boys. I grabbed some heavy-duty glue, the kind they use for like, building houses or something. I also got some screws and metal plates, just to be safe. Safety first, folks! The process was messy, I won’t lie. I slapped glue on the bottom of the Crocs and the top of the heels, pressed them together, and then reinforced the whole thing with screws and metal plates on the heel and toe. It looked a little rough, but hey, it was sturdy.
After letting the glue dry overnight, it was time for the big reveal. I slipped those babies on, and let me tell you, it was a strange feeling. Comfortable, yet precarious. I wobbled around my apartment, trying to get the hang of walking in them. They definitely added some height, and they were surprisingly stable, thanks to all those screws and plates. It felt really weird but in a good way, something new you know.
I even ventured outside, wearing my DIY Balenciaga Crocs heels to the grocery store. People were staring, some were pointing and a couple of kids even laughed, and many people give me the thumbs up, but I didn’t care. I was rocking my crazy creation, and it felt kind of awesome. Some people asked me where I buy them from, and I just tell them that they are limited edition. I even took a bunch of pictures and posted them online. They blew up! People were loving them, or maybe they were just loving to hate them, I don’t know. But they were definitely getting a reaction.
So, there you have it, my Balenciaga Crocs heels adventure. It was a wild ride, but I’m glad I did it. It just goes to show that you can turn anything into a fashion statement if you put your mind to it, and maybe a little bit of glue and some screws. I had fun doing it so why not, and it cost me way less than 600 bucks.
