Okay, so I’ve been meaning to try out this Al Haramain Gold Oud for a while now. I’ve heard some good things, and let’s be real, the name itself sounds pretty fancy, right? So, I finally got my hands on a bottle, and I’ve been testing it out for the past week. Here’s the lowdown on my experience.
First off, the unboxing was kind of cool. The bottle itself is pretty flashy, which I guess makes sense since it’s supposed to be “gold” oud. I found it in a store, so I didn’t have that whole mail-order experience. And the price wasn’t too bad. The store I went in had a bunch of these types of fragrances, and this one just called out to me.
I tried a few sprays, at first, it was strong, and I was worried, but it got better. It’s definitely got that oud thing going on, but it’s not super overpowering. I wore it out to a dinner with friends, and I got a couple of “Hey, you smell good!” comments, which is always a win.
The next day, I tried it again, this time just a single spray on my wrist. It’s more subtle this way, and I think that’s how I prefer it. It lasted a decent amount of time, too. I could still catch a whiff of it in the evening. I went on a date wearing it, and my date seemed to like it, so that was a good sign.
- Day 3: Wore it to work. No one said anything, but I felt fancy.
- Day 4: Just chilling at home, no oud today.
- Day 5: Another date! Same result, she liked it.
- Day 6: Met up with some family. My aunt said I smelled “exotic.” I’ll take it.
- Day 7: Back to work. Still feeling good about this scent.
So, all in all, I’m pretty happy with this Al Haramain Gold Oud. It’s a solid fragrance that gets compliments, and it’s not crazy expensive. A few other reviews say this is like a cheaper version of another cologne, but I can’t say about that. It smells good, and I feel good wearing it. If you’re looking for something new and different, I’d say give it a shot. You might be surprised.
I’ve heard that you have to be careful with oud, you know, because you can easily get ripped off with a fake. I don’t think that happened here, though. But just in case, do your research and go to a reputable place. I think I will be getting this again for sure, and maybe even try some other scents from Al Haramain. This place had a “White Edition” that might be worth checking out. We will see.
