My Trip to Nordstrom at Arden Fair
So, I found myself needing to head over to the Arden Fair mall the other day. Specifically, I had my sights set on Nordstrom. It’s been a while, you know? Life gets busy, and honestly, driving over there and dealing with the mall parking isn’t always my first choice for a fun afternoon.
Anyway, I made the drive. Traffic wasn’t too bad, surprisingly. Found a parking spot without circling for like, twenty minutes, which felt like a small win already. Arden Fair can be a real zoo sometimes, especially closer to the holidays or on weekends, but this time it felt manageable.
Walked into Nordstrom. You know that specific Nordstrom smell? Like a mix of perfume and new clothes? Yeah, that hit me right away. It’s cleaner than some other department stores, I’ll give them that. Felt pretty bright and open when I first stepped in.
My main goal was to check out the shoe department. Needed some decent walking shoes, nothing too fancy, but comfortable. Headed downstairs, ’cause that’s where they usually keep ’em.
- Took a good look around. Lots of brands, lots of styles.
- Some prices definitely made my eyes water a bit. Oof.
- Finding someone to help wasn’t immediate, but eventually, a guy came over. He was helpful enough, brought out a few sizes.
Tried on a couple of pairs. Walked back and forth near the mirrors like everyone does. Felt okay, but nothing really jumped out and screamed “buy me!” you know? Maybe I’m just getting pickier, or maybe my feet are just awkward. Who knows.
After the shoe hunt didn’t pan out, I wandered upstairs. Took a stroll through the men’s section. Lots of shirts, pants, jackets. Same deal, looked nice, felt pricey. Didn’t really need anything specific there, was mostly just killing time and browsing.
Then I kinda drifted over towards the cosmetics and fragrance area. It’s always buzzing over there. Lots of people spraying things and testing lotions. Passed through quickly, that section can be overwhelming.
Overall impression? It’s a Nordstrom. It’s pretty much what you expect. Clean, well-lit, lots of brand names, and generally more expensive than other places. The staff seemed fine, busy but polite enough when I needed help.
Ended up leaving empty-handed this time. Didn’t find the perfect shoes, and wasn’t really in the mood to splurge on anything else. Sometimes you go in with a plan, and sometimes you just walk around and walk back out. That was this trip. Just another day, another errand run to the mall. Got back in the car, navigated out of the parking lot, and headed home. Maybe I’ll try online next time for those shoes.
