What to wear in 60 degree weather, confused? Simple tricks, look great.

Alright, let’s talk about what to wear when it’s around 60 degrees outside. I messed around with this last week, trying to figure out the perfect balance between being comfy and not freezing my butt off.

What to wear in 60 degree weather, confused? Simple tricks, look great.

First, I checked the weather app like a hawk. 60 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze. Okay, good starting point. I ruled out anything super heavy, like my winter coat. That was a no-brainer.

Then, I started thinking layers. Layers are your best friend in this kind of weather. You can always take something off if you get too warm, or add it back on if the temperature dips. I grabbed a long-sleeved cotton shirt as my base layer. Nothing fancy, just a plain grey one.

Next, I decided on a light jacket. I have this denim jacket that I absolutely love, and it’s perfect for 60-degree weather. It’s not too bulky, but it provides enough warmth to cut through a slight chill. I considered a fleece jacket, but thought it might be a bit too warm if I ended up being active.

For pants, I went with a pair of dark-wash jeans. Jeans are always a good option, in my opinion. They’re comfortable, versatile, and they go with pretty much everything. I thought about leggings, but decided against them because I knew I’d be walking around outside a lot.

Shoes were the next hurdle. I opted for a pair of my trusty sneakers. Comfortable and practical. I avoided sandals because, well, 60 degrees is still a bit chilly for bare toes. Plus, I didn’t want to risk getting caught in a surprise rain shower.

Finally, accessories. I threw on a baseball cap to protect my face from the sun, and I grabbed a lightweight scarf just in case the breeze picked up. I didn’t end up needing the scarf, but it was nice to have it just in case.

I walked around for a couple of hours, and honestly, the outfit was perfect. I wasn’t too hot, and I wasn’t too cold. The denim jacket kept me warm enough, and the cotton shirt helped to regulate my temperature. Success!

Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Long-sleeved cotton shirt
  • Light denim jacket
  • Dark-wash jeans
  • Sneakers
  • Baseball cap
  • Lightweight scarf (optional)

The key takeaway here is layering. Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for you, but this is a solid starting point for navigating that tricky 60-degree weather zone.
