What outfits go with olive green wedge heels? Easy ways to match them with your favorite clothes.

Okay, so today I’m gonna yap about my latest shoe adventure: olive green wedge heels. Sounds kinda fancy, right? Trust me, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. More like blisters and near-ankle-twisting experiences, but hey, we got there in the end!

It all started when I saw this picture online. Olive green wedges. Super cute. Thought to myself, “Self, you NEED those.” Famous last words, am I right?

The Hunt Begins: First, I hit the usual suspects. Macy’s, Nordstrom…nada. Plenty of wedges, but nothing in that specific shade of olive green. It was either too bright, too dark, or some weird swampy color that just wasn’t working. I even checked some smaller boutiques, but no luck there either.

Online Dive: So, I went where all desperate shoe-seekers go: the internet. Amazon, Zappos, ASOS…spent hours scrolling. Found a few contenders, but the reviews were all over the place. “Runs small,” “uncomfortable,” “falls apart after one wear.” Yikes! I’m trying to look fashionable, not cripple myself.

Finally, I found a pair on Etsy. A small shop specializing in handmade shoes. The pictures looked amazing, and the reviews were mostly positive. They weren’t cheap, but I figured, “Hey, you get what you pay for,” and clicked that “Buy Now” button.

The Unboxing: A week later, the shoes arrived. The color was perfect – exactly the olive green I was looking for. The wedge felt sturdy, and the materials seemed high-quality. So far, so good!

  • First Wear: This is where things started to get interesting. I wore them to a friend’s birthday party. Walking around the house, they felt fine. But after about an hour of standing and mingling, my feet started to scream.
  • Blister City: By the end of the night, I had blisters on both heels and the balls of my feet were killing me. Seriously considered walking home barefoot, but dignity prevailed.
  • Operation: Comfort: Okay, these shoes were gorgeous, but clearly, they needed some serious help. I tried everything. Gel inserts, heel grips, moleskin…you name it.
  • The Break-In: I started wearing them around the house for short periods, gradually increasing the time. It was painful, but slowly, they started to mold to my feet.

The Redemption:

After a few weeks of dedicated break-in efforts, the olive green wedge heels are finally wearable! They’re still not the most comfortable shoes in my closet, but I can actually wear them for a few hours without wanting to chop my feet off. I rocked them to a wedding last weekend and actually got compliments! Victory!

The Takeaway: Sometimes, those super cute shoes are worth the effort. But be prepared for some pain and suffering along the way. Invest in good inserts, and don’t be afraid to break them in slowly. And maybe, just maybe, bring a pair of flats as backup. You’ll thank me later.
