Today, I finally got my hands on the Valentino Donna Born In Roma Intense Eau de Parfum. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while now, and let me tell you, the anticipation was real. I decided to make a day of it, you know, really get the full experience.

First Impressions
First things first, I hit up the mall. I headed straight to the department store, where all the fancy perfumes hang out. The bottle was right there on display. It looked so much fancier in person! That studded glass, the black leather, it was seriously luxurious.
The Scent Journey
I spritzed some on a tester strip. Wow. It’s definitely not a shy scent. Bold, for sure. I got this initial hit of vanilla, but like, a really rich, warm vanilla. Not that cheap, sugary stuff. I’m talking about the real deal.
I walked around for a bit, letting the scent settle. You know how some perfumes change after a while? This one did, but in a good way. The vanilla stuck around, but then this jasmine note started to peek through. It was like this beautiful dance between the two. I kept sniffing my wrist, it’s kinda addictive.
- First spray: Intense vanilla. Almost overwhelming, but in a good way.
- After 30 minutes: The vanilla softened a bit, and a floral note – I think it’s jasmine – started to come through.
- An hour later: Okay, now we’re talking. It became this warm, sensual scent. The vanilla and jasmine were playing together nicely. There was also something else, a bit deeper…maybe a woody note?
Making the Decision
After about an hour of browsing, pretending I was interested in other stuff, I went back to the perfume counter. I sprayed a little on my wrist this time. I wanted to see how it mixed with my own skin chemistry. After some deliberation. It was settled. I had to have it.
Final Thoughts
I’ve been wearing it all evening, and I’m still loving it. It’s definitely a nighttime, going-out kind of perfume. Or, you know, for when you just want to feel a little extra special sitting at home. I can’t wait to wear it to dinner with my friends next week. I am pretty sure it’s going to be my new signature scent for a while. It’s definitely a keeper!
