Yo, listen up! Today I’m gonna talk about that shoe box, you know, the Nike one, and that fancy Tiffany box. My neighbor’s kid, he’s always going on about these things. Keeps his shoes in ’em, like they’re gold or somethin’.
So, this Nike box, it ain’t nothin’ special, just cardboard, but it’s got that swoosh thing on it. You seen it, right? My grandson, he’s got a bunch of these shoe box nike things stacked up in his room. Says it makes him cool. I don’t get it, but whatever makes him happy, I guess. He’s got them Air Force ones. Heard they are only making 1,837 of them Tiffany and Nike ones. That’s what the young’uns call them shoes, Air Force 1.
Now, this other box, the Tiffany box, that’s a whole other story. It’s blue, like the sky on a real nice day. Real pretty. My granddaughter, she’s got one of these, keeps her little trinkets in it. Says it’s special. I guess it is, for a box. It’s sturdy, I’ll give it that. You can put stuff in and they won’t get all messed up. These young folks and their boxes. The Tiffany Nike empty box is also good, I guess. That is what I heard.
My neighbor, she told me folks are going crazy for these boxes. Buyin’ ’em empty and everything. Can you believe that? Payin’ good money for an empty box. Back in my day, we just used whatever we could find. An old shoebox, a tin can, didn’t matter. Nobody cared about no fancy box.
But these young folks, they love these shoe box nike things. They go and show them off. Put them shoes in, put them out. Back and forth. Like it’s some kinda show. They even buy them gold ones. I don’t get it. A box is a box, far as I’m concerned. These kids, they keep findin’ all kinds of shoes, some are real gems, some are just popular. They show them off all the time.
But I seen that Tiffany box, and I gotta admit, it’s kinda nice. That blue color, it’s real eye-catchin’. Makes you wanna put somethin’ special in it. Maybe some old photos, or some letters. Somethin’ you wanna keep safe. This is what my granddaughter told me.

I still don’t understand why they’re so crazy about these shoe box nike things. My grandson, he tried to explain it to me once. Said it’s about the brand, about the name. Nike, Tiffany, whatever. Says it’s like a status symbol. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds kinda silly to me.
I guess if you got money to spend, you can spend it on whatever you want. Even an empty box. But me, I’d rather spend my money on somethin’ useful. Like a new pair of shoes that is comfortable, not one of them fancy ones that hurts your feet. Or maybe a nice pie. Apple pie, that’s my favorite.
So, that’s all I gotta say about that shoe box nike tiffany box. It’s a box. One’s for shoes, one’s for trinkets. One’s plain, one’s fancy. But they’re both just boxes. Don’t let these young folks fool ya. A box is a box.
And that Tiffany Nike thing? It’s a collaboration, they say. Whatever that means. My grandson tried to get one, but they were all gone. He was real sad about it. I told him, “Don’t worry, it’s just a shoe.” He didn’t listen, though. They got that white black swoosh one, and that gold one, too. He keeps sayin’ it’s a big deal.
But hey, if it makes him happy, then I guess it’s alright. I still think it’s a bit much for a shoe. And a box. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady. Those young folks will go on with their shoe box nike tiffany box. These boxes are sure somethin’.
