Okay, so I wanted to dive into the world of handbags because, let’s be honest, a girl can never have too many, right? And there are SO many different styles out there, it’s kinda overwhelming. So, I decided to do a little research and, more importantly, try some styles out myself!
My Handbag Style Experiment
First, I listed all the handbag types I could think of. You know, the basics like:
- Tote bags
- Shoulder bags
- Crossbody bags
- Clutches
- Satchels
- Backpacks (yes, they count!)
- And a few others like bucket bags, wristlets… the list went on!
Then, I went through my own closet. I pulled out all my bags – even the ones hiding in the back – and categorized them. It was kinda fun, like rediscovering old friends. I realized I had way more shoulder bags than anything else. Huh!
Next, I decided to get a little more adventurous. I borrowed a couple of bags from my friends – a cute little clutch for a night out and a structured satchel for a more “professional” look (even though I mostly work from home in my PJs!).
I spent a week trying out different bag types for different occasions. I used the tote for grocery shopping (super practical, tons of space!), the crossbody for a walk in the park (hands-free is the best!), and the clutch for that dinner date (it fit my phone, lipstick, and cards – essentials only!). The shoulder bag remained good old friend.
I even tried a backpack for a day trip. I always thought they were a bit too “student-y” for me, but I gotta admit, it was pretty comfortable and held a lot more than I expected.
The satchel was interesting. It definitely made me feel more put-together, even if I was just going to the coffee shop. It’s amazing how a bag can change your vibe!
After my little experiment, I concluded that there’s a handbag for every mood and every situation. While I still love my trusty shoulder bags, I’m definitely going to incorporate some other styles into my rotation. Variety is the spice of life, and that applies to handbags too!
It was a fun, the experiment is very interesting, I suddenly have new ideas for my various styles of dress!
