So, I saw this YouTube video about trying different shades of pink lipsticks, and I thought, why not? I’ve always been more of a nude lip kind of girl, but stepping out of my comfort zone seemed like a fun idea. So, I headed to the nearest beauty store, feeling a bit like a fish out of water.

I stared at the rows of pink lipsticks. There were so many! I mean, who knew there were this many shades of pink? I grabbed a few that looked interesting, a mix of bright and pale ones, and started trying them on the back of my hand. The testers were all over the place, some were even empty. It was a mess, frankly. I felt like I was just smearing random colors on my skin.
Trying Them On
- First Try: I picked up this super bright, hot pink one. I swiped it on, and oh boy, it was loud. Like, really loud. I looked in the mirror and immediately wiped it off. Nope, not for me.
- Second Try: I went for a softer, baby pink shade. This one was better, kind of cute, but still not quite right. It washed me out a bit, made me look like I hadn’t slept in days.
- Third Try: I decided to try a matte one. It was a nice, dusty rose color. I put it on, and it felt pretty good. It looked decent, too. Not too bright, not too pale. But did I love it? I wasn’t sure.
After about an hour of trying on different pinks, my lips felt raw and I was over it. I did end up buying the matte one though. But honestly, I’m not sure when I’ll wear it.
I realized that, maybe pink just isn’t my color. Or maybe I just haven’t found the right shade yet. It was a fun experiment, I guess. But for now, I think I’ll stick to my usual nude lipsticks. They’re safe, they’re easy, and I don’t have to spend an hour in a store feeling confused. But hey, who knows, maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to rock a hot pink lip.
