Today, I wanna talk about my little adventure into the world of fashion. I’ve always been kinda interested in clothes, but recently I really dove in, trying to figure out what all the hype is about with these big-name brands and celebrity lines.
So, first off, I started looking into what makes luxury brands so, well, luxurious. I read somewhere that “Luxury goods are an investment,” which made sense. I mean, if you’re gonna drop some serious cash on something, it better last, right? So, I started with window shopping, not really buying, just checking out brands like Zilli and Tom Ford, I saw them in some fancy boutiques.
Then I got curious about streetwear. It’s everywhere, on the streets, on the runway. Names like Pharrell Williams and Kanye West kept popping up. I tried a few pieces from some popular streetwear brands, just to see what the fuss was about. It’s comfy, I’ll give it that, but not really my style.
The Celebrity Brand Rabbit Hole
This is where things got interesting. I started looking into celebrity brands. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty was the first one I tried. I’d heard so many good things, and honestly, it lived up to the hype. The quality is amazing. I grabbed a few lipsticks and a foundation, and I was hooked. I think I spent like an hour just playing with colors.
After that, I was on a mission. I wanted to try more. I got a bag, some pants, and a few tops from another brand I found online. Let me tell you, the quality of this one blew me away. I even got a top from there, that’s how much I liked it.
Fast Fashion
Then there’s the whole fast fashion thing. I know, I know, it’s not the best for the environment, but I was curious. Shein and Zara are like the giants in this world. I ordered a few things from them just to compare. They’re cheap, that’s for sure, and the styles are trendy. But the quality? Not so much. After a few washes, they kinda lost their shape.
What I Learned
- Quality over quantity: This is probably the biggest takeaway. I’d rather save up for one really nice piece than buy a bunch of cheap stuff that won’t last.
- Celebrity brands aren’t always a cash grab: Some of them, like Fenty, are actually really good.
- Streetwear is cool, but it’s not for everyone: I appreciate the style, but it’s just not me.
- Do your research: Before buying anything, especially if it’s expensive, look into the brand, read reviews, and see if it aligns with your values.
So yeah, that’s been my little journey into the fashion world so far. It’s been fun, a bit overwhelming at times, but definitely eye-opening. I’m still learning and exploring, but now I feel like I have a better understanding of what’s out there and what I actually like.
