You know, as the leaves start to turn and that crisp autumn air rolls in, I always find myself tinkering. Not just with my wardrobe, but with the little things, like jewelry. I’ve been doing my own kind of “style scouting” lately – a bit of people-watching, some rummaging through my own collection, and just generally keeping my eyes peeled. And I’ve definitely noticed a couple of things bubbling up that feel just right for this fall.

That Cool Gleam of Silver

I’ve got to tell you, for the longest time, my silver pieces were pretty much benched. It felt like gold was the only player in the game, you know? Everything was warm tones. But recently, I’ve been seeing silver make a huge comeback. And I’m not talking about delicate little chains. Oh no. We’re talking about proper, chunky silver. I dug out an old, kind of heavy silver cuff bracelet the other day, one I hadn’t worn in ages, and it just felt… right. Suddenly, it looked so fresh and modern. I’ve started spotting it more and more when I’m out – bold silver rings, statement necklaces. It’s like we all remembered how cool and edgy silver can be, especially when it’s got some weight to it. So yeah, I’m officially dusting off all my old silver favorites and giving them prime position again. It’s a nice change, feels a bit more rock ‘n’ roll, I guess.

Big, Bold Beads are Back

Okay, so this next one, I was a little unsure about at first. Oversized beads. My first thought was, “Really? Are we going back there?” I remember those from way back when. But then I started seeing them styled in new ways, and it clicked. We’re talking necklaces and bracelets with these really substantial beads, often in super vibrant colors or interesting, unique shapes. It’s not about being subtle; it’s about having fun.

I actually started playing around with this idea myself. I had a stash of old beads from various forgotten projects, things like:

  • Some chunky glass beads, a few in really bright blues and greens.
  • A couple of interesting resin beads with swirls in them.
  • Even a few smooth, tactile wooden beads.

I just started stringing them together, experimenting with different combinations. And you know what? A necklace made with these chunky, colorful beads really does make an outfit pop. It’s playful, it’s got personality. I think that’s the vibe for fall – a bit more expressive, a bit more bold. It’s less about tiny, delicate things and more about pieces that say something. So, I’m definitely leaning into this one too. It’s a fun way to add a splash of color and texture, especially as the weather gets cooler and we start layering up.

So, those are a couple of things I’ve personally been noticing and trying out. It’s always interesting to see how styles circle back, but with a new twist. Makes getting dressed a bit more exciting, doesn’t it?
