Alright, so I’ve been messing around with my Air Force 1s lately, and I gotta share this little project I did. I wanted to give them a bit of a personal touch, make them stand out a little, you know? So, I decided to add some metal accents to them.

First off, I grabbed my pair of white Air Force 1s – classic, right? I made sure they were clean. Then I started thinking about what kind of metal pieces I wanted to use. I rummaged through some old boxes and found some cool-looking metal bits.
I laid out all the pieces on my table and started playing around with different placements on the shoes. I was going for something subtle but noticeable. After a bunch of trial and error, I decided to focus on the laces area.
Here’s what I did:
- I took those little metal pieces, they are called dubrae, and carefully attached them to the laces.
- I made sure they were evenly spaced and secure. It was a bit fiddly, but I managed to get them on there nice and snug.
- Then I tried a few different lacing styles, just to see how the metal accents would look with each one. I’ve checked some ideas online, and it says “Whether you’re after a street-style feel or something a bit more unique, we’ve got the perfect lacing style for you!”. I experimented with straight lacing, cross lacing, and even tried a bar lacing pattern.
The Final Result
Honestly, I’m pretty stoked with how they turned out. The metal pieces add just the right amount of shine without being too flashy. And with the different lacing styles, I can switch up the look whenever I want. I know recently Nike will cut back production of the Air Force 1, but I don’t care that much. I just want to make my shoes different.
It’s a simple little customization, but it’s made my Air Force 1s feel a lot more unique. If you’re looking for a way to personalize your sneakers, I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s easy, fun, and the results are pretty cool!
