Okay, so I’ve been looking for an engagement ring, and let me tell you, it’s a jungle out there! I finally decided to check out Robbins Brothers in Bellevue, WA, after hearing about them from, like, everyone.

First, I made an appointment online. Super easy, just picked a time that worked for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, so I spent a little time browsing their website beforehand to get an idea of styles I liked. Didn’t want to walk in there completely clueless!
When I got there, the place was pretty impressive. It’s big, and they have, no joke, so many rings. A little overwhelming, to be honest! But a greeter person, consultant? found me quickly. Made me feel at ease.
The Consultation
I was paired with a consultant – I think her name was Sarah? – and she was actually really helpful. We sat down and talked about what I was looking for, my budget (gulp), and my girlfriend’s style (or what I think is her style!).
Sarah pulled out some rings based on what I told her, and we went through them one by one. She explained the different cuts, clarities, and all that stuff. I’m not gonna lie, some of it went over my head, but she was patient and answered all my dumb questions without making me feel, well, dumb.
- I learned about the 4 C’s (Cut, Clarity, Carat, Color). I feel at least somewhat informed.
- I tried on a few different settings, even though they weren’t my size, just to get a feel for them.
- I did not bought anything that day.
After looking at what felt like a million rings, I narrowed it down to a few that I really liked. Sarah gave me some printouts with the details of each one, including the price (double gulp). I did not bought anything.

Overall, it was a good experience. I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything, and Sarah was genuinely helpful. Now I just need to, you know, actually make a decision! Wish me luck!
