Okay, let’s talk about the time I got into this whole “Project Runway: Junior” thing. It was a couple of years back. I was living in Florence, Italy, of all places. You know, the city of art and fashion? I was studying there. It was called fashion art direction and it was all about creative stuff. And, get this, I was working as a graphic designer at the same time! Full-time! But my heart was still with fashion design and clothing. It is the kind of thing that I wanna get back into, you know?

So, one day, I stumbled upon this show, “Project Runway: Junior.” I thought, “Why not?” I started watching it, and oh boy, it was addicting. These kids, some as young as 13, were creating these amazing designs. It was so inspiring! They are so young and talented. Watching them take on the challenges, work with mentors, and put together runway shows, I was hooked. I start to be a loyal fan of this show.
I started to dive deeper, I mean, I was already living and breathing fashion in Florence, so it felt right. I learned about this designer, Chris March, who was on the grown-up “Project Runway.” He was always overflowing with new ideas, and he made clothes for big stars, like Meryl Streep and Beyoncé. Sadly, he passed away in 2019. It was a big loss for the fashion world.
Anyways, back to “Project Runway: Junior.” I got so into it that I started keeping track of all the episodes. I even made myself a little printable episode guide. You know, just to keep things organized. I watched every episode, from the very first one where they introduced the freshman class of young designers, to all the challenges they faced.
Watching these kids grow and develop their skills was amazing. They learned so much, not just about fashion, but also about teamwork, time management, and handling pressure. And the mentors were great. They weren’t just there to judge, they really guided the kids and helped them improve. It was all about positive reinforcement and mentorship, which I loved.
I even went online and found out that you can watch season 18 of the main “Project Runway” show on Netflix now. I’m thinking of starting a full rewatch, you know, just for fun, and to get those creative juices flowing again. This show really got me thinking about getting back into fashion design. I mean, I’m already in the creative field, and it just seems like such a fun and fulfilling way to express myself.

So, that’s my little journey with “Project Runway: Junior.” It was a fun ride, and it definitely rekindled my love for fashion. I might just have to dust off my old sewing machine and start sketching again. Who knows where it might lead?
