Okay, so I wanted to try out a new look – opaque tights with a black skirt. I’ve seen this combo around and thought it looked pretty chic and put-together, so I decided to give it a go myself.

Getting the Pieces
First, I needed the essentials. I already had a simple black skater skirt that I figured would work perfectly. It’s nothing fancy, just a basic, versatile piece. The main thing I needed was a good pair of opaque tights. I didn’t want anything too thin or flimsy, so I went for a pair labeled “80 denier”. Seemed like a solid choice for good coverage.
Putting it Together
I started with the tights. I always find it easier to put them on first, kind of like a base layer. I made sure to pull them up evenly to avoid any bunching or twisting. Then, I slipped on the black skirt. Simple enough, right?
Adding the Top and Shoes
The next step was figuring out what to wear on top. I rummaged through my closet and decided on a cream-colored, slightly oversized sweater. I liked the contrast between the dark skirt and tights and the lighter top. Plus, it’s cozy! For shoes, I opted for my trusty black ankle boots. They have a small heel, which I thought added a little bit of polish to the outfit.
The Final Look
I checked myself out in the mirror. I have to say,I was pretty happy with how it turned out!
- The tights provided good coverage, no see-through mishaps here.
- The black skirt was the perfect length, not too short, not too long.
- The sweater balanced out the look, making it feel casual yet stylish.
- The ankle boots tied everything together.
Overall, I felt comfortable and confident. It’s a simple outfit, but it looks put-together and is versatile enough to wear to a casual hangout or even a relaxed dinner. I’ll definitely be wearing this combo again!
