My Little Pony Moschino: Is It Worth the Hype (and Price)?

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “My Little Pony Moschino” thing everywhere lately, and I finally decided to dive in. It’s, like, a whole collection, right? Clothes, bags, accessories – the works. I’m not usually one for cartoon-themed stuff, but there’s something about this collab that’s just…different. Maybe it’s the nostalgia factor, because I totally had My Little Ponies as a kid. Or maybe it’s just that Moschino is so good at making the unexpected, well, cool.

My Little Pony Moschino: Is It Worth the Hype (and Price)?

My Deep Dive

First, I went hunting. I wanted to really see what all there were. I started to brower some pictures, I needed to gather some intel, you know?

I was flopping around, I spent maybe an hour or two just scrolling and looking, it seemed easy. Then I decided that, I need to find some designs that matched the My Little Pony originals. That’s the key.

So, I pulled up images of the original ponies. Butterscotch, Blue Belle, all the classics. I wanted to be really thorough, I even digged some old episodes on YouTube!.

Then I hit the actual designs. I started with some easy , trying to copy the color schemes and the overall vibe. I was basically just messing around with markers and colored pencils at first, nothing fancy.

  • First Attempt: Total fail. Looked like a kindergartener’s project, seriously. Colors were all wrong, proportions were wonky.
  • Second Attempt: Slightly better. I started to get a feel for the shapes, the flowy manes and tails. But still…not quite there.
  • Third Attempt: Okay, now we’re talking! I started using some thinner markers, adding more detail, really paying attention to the eyes (which are surprisingly important, it turns out).

I kept at it. I must have done, like, ten different sketches. Some were more “Moschino” – you know, bolder, more graphic. Others were more faithful to the original ponies, more soft and pastel. I was trying to find that sweet spot, that perfect blend of both worlds.

Finally, I think I cracked it. I ended up with three designs that I’m actually kind of proud of. They’re not perfect, obviously – I’m no Jeremy Scott! – but they capture that fun, playful spirit of My Little Pony, with a little bit of that Moschino edge.

One is based on Butterscotch, with her yellow body and pink mane. I used a really bright, almost neon yellow, and added some black outlines to make it pop. Another one is inspired by Blue Belle, with her light blue body and purple hair. I went for a more gradient effect on this one, blending the colors together to give it a softer look. And the last one is a bit of a mashup, combining elements from different ponies. It’s kind of a rainbow explosion, but in a good way (I hope!).

It was a way longer process than I thought it would be. But, hey, it was fun! It felt good to tap into that childhood nostalgia, and to push myself creatively. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try to make one of these designs into a real thing someday. A custom My Little Pony Moschino jacket? Could be cool, right?
