So, I got it into my head that I needed to find a pair of Michael Jordan Converse shoes. You know, the ones he wore before the whole Nike Air Jordan thing blew up? Yeah, those.

First, I hit up the usual spots online. You know, just browsing around, seeing what’s out there.
The Deep Dive Begins
Then things got real. I started digging through forums and collector pages. I figured these were my people, the ones who’d know the real deal.
- Scrolled through endless forum threads.
- Read tons of articles about the history of these shoes.
- Learned way more than I ever thought I would about shoe stitching and leather types. I mean, who knew?
I spent hours, and I mean hours, going down this rabbit hole. My wife thought I was nuts. “It’s just shoes!” she’d say. But she doesn’t get it. It’s about the history, man!
The Hunt Intensifies
After all that research, I felt like I had a better idea of what to look for. So I started searching in a new way, using my knowledge.
I got burned a couple of times. Found a few that looked promising, but they turned out to be fakes or in terrible condition. It’s tough out there!

The Real Deal?
After many fails, I kept searching. I changed how I have been searching, to add some new ideas, and found some more pairs.
Finally, I think I found a lead on a pair that might actually be legit. Still waiting to hear back from the seller, and I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much. The process is still ongoing and it is super exciting, I will come back and share the news!
