Okay, so I’ve been seeing these metallic purses everywhere lately, and I just had to give it a try. I’m not really a fashionista or anything, but they looked so cool! So, I decided to make one myself ’cause why not, right?

First, I looked up some ideas online. I scrolled through tons of pictures and articles. They talked about how metallic is super trendy right now, and how you can dress them up or down. That sounded pretty good to me, so I kept going.
Next, I needed to figure out how to actually make one of these things. I found some tutorials that showed how to clean metallic leather, and I figured that was kind of close, right? It gave me an idea of what kind of material I should use and stuff.
Then came the fun part – shopping! I headed to a local fabric store and rummaged through their stuff. I finally found this awesome shiny, silver material. It was like, a faux leather type thing, but super metallic. Perfect! I also picked up some basic sewing supplies, like a zipper, thread, and a needle, since the old one at home was broken.
Back home, I got to work. I laid out the material and cut it into two big rectangles for the front and back of the purse. Then I cut some smaller pieces for the sides. It was kind of tricky, but I just took it slow.
- Sewing the zipper was the hardest part. I had to watch a couple of videos to get it right. But after a few tries, I got it.
- Then I sewed the sides to the front and back pieces. It started to look like an actual purse!
- Finally, I flipped the whole thing inside out and sewed up the top. Boom! Purse!
I even added a little strap I made from the same material. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It’s definitely shiny and eye-catching, that’s for sure! And I am the only one who has this purse in this world.

I’ve worn it out a few times now, and I get compliments all the time. People keep asking me where I got it, and I just smile and say, “I made it!” It’s a great conversation starter, let me tell you.
So yeah, that’s my little metallic purse adventure. It was a fun little project, and now I have a cool new purse to show off. Maybe I’ll try making another one, but in gold next time. Or maybe even try a different style altogether. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
