Met Gala 2024: Greta Lees Outfit Breakdown: Who Was She Wearing on the Red Carpet?

Okay, so, I saw everyone talking about the Met Gala 2024, and of course, Greta Lee’s look caught my eye. I gotta say, I tried to copy it, and it was a whole thing. Here’s how it went down.

Met Gala 2024: Greta Lees Outfit Breakdown: Who Was She Wearing on the Red Carpet?

First, I scrolled through tons of pictures to really get a good look at what she was wearing. It was this flowy, kind of see-through dress with flowers all over it. It looked simple but also super elegant. I thought, “I can do that!”

Finding the Dress

The hardest part was definitely the dress. I went to a bunch of stores, but nothing was quite right. I wanted that same flowy feel and those delicate flowers. Finally, I found this one dress online that was kind of similar. It wasn’t perfect, but I figured I could make it work.

  • Searched online for a dress that had a similar vibe.
  • Ordered the dress and waited impatiently for it to arrive.

Making the Flowers

Next up, the flowers. Greta’s dress had these really pretty flowers that looked like they were part of the dress. I grabbed some fabric and started cutting out flower shapes. It took forever, and I probably stabbed myself with the needle a few times, but I managed to make a bunch of them.

  • Cut out a bunch of flower shapes from different fabrics.
  • Sewed them onto the dress, trying to copy the pattern from the pictures.

Putting It All Together

Once the dress arrived, I started sewing the flowers on. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I tried to arrange them like Greta’s, but it definitely didn’t look as polished. Still, I think I got the general idea across.

I also tried to do my hair and makeup like hers. Her hair was kind of slicked back, which was easy enough. The makeup was a bit trickier, but I did my best to copy that glowy, natural look she had going on.

The Final Look

In the end, my version of Greta Lee’s Met Gala look wasn’t exactly a red-carpet moment. But, you know what? I had a blast trying to recreate it. Plus, I learned a lot about sewing and how much work goes into these fancy outfits. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely an experience. I even saw someone made a dress with moving butterfly wings, should I try that next? I don’t know, what do you think?

Oh, and I saw some people talking about other outfits too. Like, Teyana was wearing The Blonds dress, and Linda Evangelista had this white gown on. They all looked amazing, but Greta’s was the one that really inspired me to try and make something myself. I also heard the theme was about “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which sounds pretty cool. But I still don’t know what the story is behind the name, I guess it is something related to the garments, right?

Anyway, that’s my Met Gala adventure. It was fun, a little messy, but totally worth it. I feel like I got a tiny taste of what it’s like to be a fashion designer, even if it was just for a day.
