Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with the Olsen twins’ style forever, right? And I finally decided to try and recreate one of their iconic photoshoot looks. It was… an experience, to say the least!

Getting Started
First, I scoured the internet for inspiration. I mean, they have so many photoshoots, it was tough to choose! I finally settled on a more casual, layered look – lots of oversized pieces and neutral tones. Think big sweaters, loose pants, and messy hair. That’s the vibe I was going for.
The Hunt for Clothes
Next up, the clothes. This was surprisingly tricky. I don’t normally wear stuff this oversized, so I had to get creative. I raided my closet first, obviously. Found a few things that might work, but not much.
- Big, chunky knit sweater: Check! Found an old one of my dad’s.
- Loose, flowing pants: Nope. Had to improvise here.
- Layers, layers, layers: A few scarves and a long cardigan… maybe?
I ended up hitting a couple of thrift stores. Total jackpot! I found some wide-leg linen pants that were perfect – a little worn, but that just added to the Olsen twin aesthetic, you know? I also grabbed a super soft, oversized grey t-shirt to wear underneath everything.
Putting It All Together
Time for the fun part – actually assembling the outfit! I threw on the t-shirt first, then the giant sweater. The pants were next, and I cuffed them a couple of times to get that slouchy look. I added a long, thin scarf, letting it hang loose. Then I draped the cardigan over everything, just kind of letting it fall where it wanted. It felt… a lot. Like, a lot of fabric.
Hair and Makeup (or Lack Thereof)
The Olsen twins are known for their “I woke up like this” hair and minimal makeup. So, I brushed my hair, added a little texturizing spray, and mussed it up a bit. No makeup, just a little lip balm. Done. Easy peasy. Or so I thought.

The Photoshoot (aka My Living Room)
Now for the photoshoot itself. I don’t have a fancy studio or anything, so my living room had to do. I set up my phone on a tripod, found some decent lighting by the window, and… started posing. This was harder than it looked! Trying to look effortlessly cool is actually quite an effort. I took a million pictures, trying different angles, different poses… It was a whole process.
The Result
After all that, I finally got a few shots I was happy with. It’s not exactly like the Olsen twins’ photoshoot, but I think I captured the general vibe. It was definitely a fun experiment, and I learned that oversized clothing can be surprisingly comfortable. Maybe I’ll even wear this outfit out in public sometime… maybe.
