Jeremy Allen Swimsuits How to Care for Them Last Longer

Okay, let’s talk Jeremy Allen swimsuits because ain’t nobody wants to see these beauties fade or stretch out after two wears. Figured this out the hard way last summer when my favorite navy pair turned sad and loose.

The Wake-Up Call

First time I wore my Jeremy Allen, I tossed it in the washer like any old tee after. Hot water, regular cycle. Then threw it straight into the dryer because hey, laundry’s laundry, right? Big mistake. Pulled it out looking two sizes bigger with faded spots. Felt like kicking myself – spent good money on that thing.

What Actually Works

Started treating these swimsuits like my grandma’s delicates. Here’s my routine now:

Rinse Immediately After Swimming: Pool chlorine or saltwater? Death for spandex. Now I sprint to the shower right after getting out, turn the tap cold, and rinse the suit inside out for a solid minute. Just hold it under running water – no soap yet.

Hand Wash Only (Seriously): Bought a cheap plastic basin just for swimwear. Fill it with lukewarm water, tiny splash of mild detergent (the kind for baby clothes), and dunk the suit. Swish it around gently for 2 minutes like I’m petting a nervous cat. No twisting or scrubbing – fabric’s too soft for that fight.

Drying = No Sun, No Heat: Used to hang suits on the balcony railing. Sunlight murdered the color fast. Now? After rinsing, I lay it flat on a clean towel, roll the towel burrito-style to squish out water, then unroll and reshape the suit on a drying rack indoors. Away. From. Windows.

Storage Is Key: Folded mine in a drawer last winter. Crease marks stayed forever. Never again. Now I drape it flat in a dark drawer or slide it loose into a mesh bag. Stuffing crumples the lining – trust me, you’ll regret those weird bumps.

Extra Stuff That Matters

  • Sunscreen stains? Rubbed liquid dish soap into the greasy spots before rinsing. Saved my white pair.
  • Suede-lined bottoms? Don’t even think about soap. Just cold water rinsing.
  • Snags happen. Used clear nail polish on tiny pulls to stop runs. Looks trashy? Maybe. Works? Absolutely.

Why Bother?

Seems like a pain? Yeah, kinda. But two summers later, my first Jeremy Allen still fits tight and looks sharp. No pilling, no fading. Cheaper than buying a new $100+ suit every season because I was lazy. Treat these things right – they’ll outlast your gym shorts.
