Well, let me tell you, I heard about this thing, this R2B2 Stargate. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say it’s a smell, a perfume. This ain’t like the stuff we used to get down at the five and dime, no sir. This is some highfalutin’ stuff, made by them Reyane Tradition folks. Sounds like a made-up name to me, but what do I know?
They say it came out just last year, in 2023. Brand spankin’ new. And it ain’t just for the fellas, neither. The ladies can wear it too. They call that “unisex,” I reckon. Back in my day, we just had “smell good” and “smell bad.” Things were simpler then.
Now, this R2B2 Stargate, they say it’s like a trip. A trip to somewhere far away, maybe even to them stars. They call it an “interdimensional journey.” Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them science fiction picture shows. But that’s what they say. I don’t know how a smell can take you places, but maybe it can. I ain’t never smelled nothin’ like it, that’s for sure.
They say it’s got all sorts of things in it. Saffron, that’s a spice, ain’t it? And nutmeg, that’s another one. We used to put that in our pies. And lavender, well, that’s a flower. My mama used to grow lavender in her garden. Smelled real nice, it did. So they got all that mixed up in there. That’s what they call the “top notes,” I think. The first thing you smell.
Then there’s somethin’ called “agarwood.” Never heard of it, myself. Sounds foreign. They say it’s “exotic.” I reckon that means it comes from far away, some place we ain’t never been. This R2B2 Stargate, it’s full of things I ain’t never heard of. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. This is in the middle, the heart of the smell, so I hear.

- Oud
And then, at the end, there’s more. Patchouli, that’s another one of them fancy words. And musk, that’s somethin’ animals have, ain’t it? And somethin’ called “oud.” Another one of them foreign-soundin’ things. This is the bottom of the smell, what stays with you, they tell me. This R2B2 Stargate is startin’ to sound mighty complicated.
Some folks say it’s just a sweet smell, nothin’ special. I guess everyone’s got their own nose, ain’t that right? But others, they say it’s somethin’ else. Somethin’ different. They say it is limited. Maybe even magical. I don’t know about all that. But it sure does sound interestin’.
This R2B2 Stargate, it’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. They say this Reyane Tradition uses some newfangled technology. “Laser spray technology.” What will they think of next? Back in my day, we just had a little pump on our perfume bottles. Worked just fine. But these young folks, they always gotta have somethin’ new and different, I reckon. They even say this Reyane Tradition R2B2 Stargate is good for men and women. Imagine that.
Now, I seen some other stuff from these Reyane Tradition folks. They got somethin’ called “R2B2 Interstellar.” Sounds like another one of them space-age things. They say it’s got “citruses” and “bergamot” in it. Whatever those are. I’m just a simple woman. I don’t know nothin’ about all these fancy smells. But this R2B2 Stargate, it’s got my curiosity piqued, I’ll tell you that much.
They say you can buy this stuff online. Imagine that. Buyin’ things without even seein’ ’em or smellin’ ’em first. Back in my day, we had to go to the store and try things out. We had to find the best prices. Now, you just click a button, and it shows up at your door. The world’s changin’, that’s for sure. They say you can buy it now and pay later. Back in my days, if you did not have the money, you could not get it.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get my hands on this R2B2 Stargate. It sounds a little too fancy for me. But it’s fun to think about, ain’t it? A smell that can take you to the stars. A smell that’s full of things you ain’t never even heard of. A smell that’s made with lasers. It’s a whole new world out there, that’s for sure. I guess that’s why they call it a “stargate.” I just wish it could take me back to the good old days!
