Is Morphe 2 worth trying? Real reviews reveal if this simple beauty brand lives up to the hype.

Alright, let’s talk about this Morphe 2 situation. I’d been using regular Morphe products for a good while. You know, their big eyeshadow palettes, the brushes, the usual stuff for when you actually want to do your makeup properly.

Then suddenly, Morphe 2 started appearing. It was marketed everywhere as something different, lighter, more “natural”. They kept saying it was for that “clean aesthetic”. I was curious, thought maybe it would be good for days I didn’t feel like putting on a full face, something quick and easy.

Getting My Hands On It

So, I decided to try it out. Went online and ordered a couple of things. I think I got the Hint Hint Skin Tint and maybe one of the Jelly Eye Shimmers or a lip oil, can’t remember exactly which one now.

The stuff arrived, and the packaging was definitely different. More simple, less of the bold black Morphe usually has. Felt like they were going for a younger, maybe trendier look.

Using the Products

Okay, so I started using the skin tint first. Applied it like I would any tinted moisturizer. It was… very light. Like, super sheer coverage. Which, okay, maybe that’s the whole point of the “hint hint” name. It evened things out a tiny bit but didn’t cover much. Felt more like a slightly tinted moisturizer than actual foundation, which is fair enough.

  • Texture: Felt nice going on, smooth.
  • Coverage: Barely there. If you have things you want to cover, this isn’t it.
  • Wear: Didn’t last all day on me, seemed to fade quite quickly.

The other item, I think it was a glossy lip product, was pretty standard. Gave a nice shine, felt comfortable. Nothing groundbreaking, but it did its job. It was decent enough.

My Overall Take

Honestly? It felt a bit… separate from the main Morphe brand. Like they saw a trend for minimal makeup and quickly put something together. The products weren’t bad, especially for the price point, but they didn’t blow me away.

It really felt aimed at a different crowd. Maybe teenagers just starting with makeup, or people who genuinely prefer almost no coverage. It reminded me of other brands focusing purely on that minimal look.

For me, having used the original Morphe stuff which is usually quite pigmented and performance-focused (even if quality varied sometimes), Morphe 2 felt a bit weak in comparison. It didn’t really fit into my routine.

I used the lip product until it was gone, but the skin tint? It’s probably still in a drawer somewhere. Didn’t find myself reaching for it much after the first few tries. It just wasn’t quite what I expected or needed, even for minimal makeup days. Felt like a different company trying to ride the coattails of the Morphe name but aiming for a completely different customer.
