How to work with a fasonista: A simple guide to manage your production

Okay, so, let’s talk about this whole “fashionista” thing. I mean, I’ve always liked clothes, but “fashionista”? That sounded a bit…extra, you know? But I decided to give it a go, document it all, and see if I could actually pull it off. It all started with me just staring at my closet, which was a mess, by the way. Clothes I hadn’t worn in years, stuff that didn’t even fit anymore, and a whole lot of “what was I thinking?” moments.

Cleaning Out My Closet

First things first, I had to clean out that closet. I mean, dump everything out. I’m not even kidding, it was like a clothing avalanche. I tried on every single piece, and if it didn’t fit, didn’t make me feel good, or I couldn’t remember the last time I wore it, it went into a pile. I ended up with three piles: “Keep,” “Donate,” and “Maybe.” That “Maybe” pile was tough, but I forced myself to be realistic. If I was on the fence about something, I probably wasn’t going to wear it.

Finding My Style

Next, I had to figure out what my style even was. Was I going for a classic look? Bohemian? Something totally different? I flipped through some magazines, scrolled through a few social media, just to get some ideas. Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming. But I started to notice certain things I was drawn to – certain colors, patterns, and styles. And when you shop, try it all on! Then you start to understand what your vibe is.

Shopping Time!

Okay, so this was the fun part. Armed with a clearer idea of what I liked, I actually went shopping. But I tried to be smart about it. Instead of just buying whatever caught my eye, I focused on finding pieces that would mix and match with what I already owned. I also tried to invest in a few key pieces that I knew I’d wear a lot. And let me tell you, a good pair of jeans and a classic white shirt can go a long way.

Experimenting with Outfit

This is where things got interesting. Now that I had some new pieces and a better sense of my style, I started experimenting. I tried different combinations, added accessories, and even stepped out of my comfort zone a few times. Some outfits were total hits, others…not so much. But that’s part of the process, right? You have to try things out to see what works.

The Result

So, did I become a “fashionista”? I don’t know if I’d use that word, but I definitely feel more confident in my style. My closet is organized, I actually like everything I own, and getting dressed in the morning is way less stressful. I guess the biggest takeaway is that it’s not about following trends or looking like someone else. It’s about finding what makes you feel good and rocking it.

It took some time, some effort, and a few fashion fails, but I think I’ve finally cracked the code, at least for myself. And you know what? It was actually kind of fun.

    Key things I did:

  • Cleaned out my closet.
  • Figured out my style.
  • Went shopping for key pieces.
  • Experimented with different outfits.
  • Focused on what made me feel good.

And that’s pretty much it! Hope this little story of mine helps someone out there. It ain’t rocket science, but it sure makes a difference. It’s fun and also takes some guts, but at the end it’s worth it!
