Alright, let me tell you about this little project I got myself into, this whole “fendi dragonite” thing. It sounds kinda weird, right? Well, the idea just popped into my head one afternoon. I was scrolling online, saw some Fendi stuff, then saw some Pokémon stuff, and my brain just mashed them together. Dragonite’s got that classy vibe for a Pokémon, I thought, maybe it could work?

Getting Started

So, first things first, I needed something to work on. Didn’t have an actual Fendi bag lying around, obviously. I found this old, plain canvas tote bag in the back of my closet. Perfect blank slate. Then I gathered my supplies:

  • Some fabric paints – definitely needed that Fendi yellow and Dragonite orange, plus black and white.
  • A few different sized brushes.
  • Pencils for sketching the design onto the bag.
  • Some tape to try and get clean lines, maybe.

I wasn’t aiming for perfection, just wanted to see if I could bring this odd idea to life, you know? More of a fun experiment.

The Design and Painting Process

I spent a bit of time sketching. Trying to figure out how to mix the Fendi look with Dragonite. I thought about using the FF logo pattern but maybe morphing the Fs slightly to look like Dragonite’s wings or antennae. That seemed too complicated for my painting skills.

So, I decided to keep it simpler. I sketched a stylized Dragonite silhouette on one side of the tote. Then, on the other side, I decided to try painting the Fendi ‘eyes’ bug motif, but give them a Dragonite twist – maybe using orange and yellow colors primarily.

Then came the painting part. This is where it always gets messy for me. I started with the Dragonite silhouette. Laid down the orange base color. Had to do a couple of coats. Waiting for paint to dry is always the hardest part, makes me impatient.

Next, I tackled the Fendi-inspired eyes on the other side. Used that bright yellow as the main focus, outlined with black. Tried to give it that signature Fendi monster look, but, well, with an orange Dragonite-ish vibe. Getting the shapes right took a few tries. I smudged the black paint at one point, had to carefully wipe it off and repaint that bit. Always happens.

Finishing Up (Sort Of)

After the main colors were down and dry, I added some small details. A bit of white for highlights on the eyes, tried to add a subtle hint of Dragonite’s belly pattern near the bottom of the bag. Just simple strokes.

I let the whole thing dry properly for a day. Looked at it again. Is it high fashion? Absolutely not. Is it a perfect fusion? Nah. But did I manage to slap the fendi dragonite idea onto a tote bag? Yeah, I did.

It looks homemade, a bit rough around the edges, but it’s definitely unique. It was just a fun little process, messing around with paints and seeing what happens when you combine two completely different things. That’s the whole point sometimes, just making something for the heck of it.
