How do I clean a Coach fabric purse? Easy tips for you!

Okay, so my Coach fabric purse was looking pretty rough. You know, daily use, spills, and just general grime. I really didn’t want to shell out for a professional cleaning, so I decided to tackle it myself. Here’s how I did it, step-by-step:

Gathering My Supplies

First, I needed to get my cleaning arsenal together. I grabbed:

  • A soft-bristled brush (an old toothbrush works great!)
  • Some mild detergent (I used a tiny bit of baby shampoo)
  • A couple of clean, soft cloths
  • A bowl of lukewarm water

Prepping the Purse

Before I started scrubbing, I emptied everything out of the purse. Every pocket, every nook and cranny. Then, I gave it a good shake upside down to get rid of any loose dirt or crumbs. I also took the brush and gently brushed the exterior fabric to remove any surface dust.

The Cleaning Process

This is where the magic happened! I mixed a very small amount of the baby shampoo into the lukewarm water. I mean, a really tiny amount – you don’t want it too sudsy.

I dipped one of the cloths into the soapy water, wrung it out really well (it should be damp, not soaking wet), and then gently wiped down the fabric of the purse. I worked in small sections, going with the grain of the fabric whenever possible.

For any stubborn spots, I used the soft toothbrush, very gently, to work the soapy water into the fabric. I made sure not to scrub too hard, as I didn’t want to damage the material.

Rinsing and Drying

Once I was happy with the cleaning, I took the second clean cloth, dampened it with plain water (no soap this time!), and wiped down the purse to remove any soap residue. Again, I made sure the cloth was just damp, not wet.

Finally, I patted the purse dry with a clean, dry cloth and let it air dry completely. I stuffed it with some clean tissue paper to help it keep its shape while drying. I made sure not to put it in direct sunlight or use a hairdryer, as that could damage the fabric.

The Result!

After letting it dry, * looks so much better! It took a little bit of elbow grease, but it was totally worth it. My Coach purse is clean, fresh, and ready for more adventures! Definitely a win in my book.
