First Love Victoria Secret: Is This Popular Fragrance Worth the Hype?

Okay, so, “First Love Victoria’s Secret.” I remember seeing this fragrance floating around online and being like, “Ooh, that sounds interesting.” I’m a sucker for anything with a name that hints at romance, you know?

So, first things first, I tried to find some info about it. What’s the deal? What does it even smell like? The notes mentioned were violet leaf, lily of the valley, and sheer musks. Sounds pretty, but I wanted the full picture.

I headed over to a Victoria’s Secret store. Figured that’s the best place to, you know, actually smell the thing. The store was all pink and glittery, as usual. It took a bit of browsing, lots of tester strips and smelling, I finally found “First Love” tucked away on a shelf.

First impression of the bottle? Pretty simple, actually. Clear glass, a light pink liquid inside. Nothing too flashy. The real test, though, was the scent itself.

I sprayed a bit on a tester strip and took a whiff. Okay, definitely floral, but not in a heavy, grandma-ish way. The violet leaf gives it this fresh, almost green opening. It’s a little sweet, too. Then, as it settles, the lily of the valley comes through. That’s where the real floral heart of the fragrance is.

After letting it sit for a few minutes, I sniffed it again. The musky part starts to peek through. It’s not an overpowering musk, thankfully. It just adds this soft, warm layer to the whole thing. It blends really nicely with the flowers.

I decided I liked it enough to try it on my skin. Chemistry can be weird, so what smells good on paper might not smell good on you. So, I sprayed a bit on my wrist and waited. On my skin, it was much the same as on the paper, and I thought it was great. It made me decide to buy it.

I wore it throughout the day, and I have to say, it’s a very easy-to-wear fragrance. I even got my boyfriend to give it a sniff on my wrist. I am happy to say that he likes it.
