The Reality Check
Reading ain’t enough though. I fired up the first episode myself. Holy cow. Literally one minute in – bam! F-word. More swearing, Catholic schoolgirls being crude, shoplifting scheme by minute five. Felt super chaotic, loud, and way too raw for my 12-year-old. Skipped ahead to a random later episode – same energy, worse language.
My Verdict & How I Handled It
Hard pass for kids. Maybe late teens if they can handle nonstop harsh language and mature themes. Told my kid straight: “Nah, this one’s messy. Too much grown-up craziness in it.” Explained the swearing and behavior stuff without diving into nasty details. They sulked for like 3 minutes, then forgot about it.
Glad I dug. Saved us both some awkward moments. Always trust your gut and double-check – what sounds like a silly teen show can pack some serious punch.
