Okay, so I’ve been seeing Michael Strahan’s suits everywhere, and I gotta say, the guy looks sharp. I decided I wanted to try to put together some outfits inspired by his style, but without breaking the bank. Here’s how it went:

First Step: Observation

I started by, you know, just looking at a bunch of pictures of him. Google Images was my best friend. I noticed a few things he does consistently:

  • Bold Colors and Patterns: He’s not afraid of a bright blue suit or a subtle plaid.
  • Well-Tailored Fit: Everything looks like it was made for him. No baggy pants or too-tight jackets.
  • Classic Accessories: Pocket squares, nice watches, simple ties. He keeps it classy.
  • Clean Shoes: Always polished, usually leather, often oxfords or loafers.

The Hunt Begins

Armed with my observations, I hit up a few stores. I didn’t go anywhere super fancy, I’m talking, like, department stores. My thinking was, I can find similar styles without the designer price tag.

I started with a navy blue suit. It’s versatile, and Strahan rocks one a lot. I found one that fit pretty well off the rack, but I knew I’d need to get it tailored (more on that later).

Next, I looked for some shirts. I grabbed a classic white one, a light blue one, and then I went a little bolder with a subtle patterned one, kind of a small check. I figured this would give me some options.

Accessorize!

I am looking for those accessories!

I picked up a few ties – a solid navy one, a red one with a small pattern, and a striped one. I also found a couple of pocket squares. One was a simple white, and the other had a bit of a paisley design, just to add a little something extra.

I already had a decent watch and some black leather shoes, so I didn’t need to buy those.

The Tailor is Key

Here’s where the magic happens. I took the suit and the shirts to a local tailor. This is seriously the most important part. I had him:

  • Take in the jacket a bit at the waist.
  • Hem the pants to the perfect length (no bunching at the ankles!).
  • Make sure the shirt sleeves were the right length (showing about half an inch of cuff).

Putting it All Together

After I got everything back from the tailor, I started experimenting. I tried different combinations of suits, shirts, ties, and pocket squares. I even took some pictures of myself in the mirror to see what looked best.

The Results

Honestly, I was pretty happy with how it all turned out! I felt like I captured the essence of Michael Strahan’s style without spending a fortune. The tailored fit made all the difference. It just goes to show, you don’t need to spend a ton of money to look good. It’s all about finding the right pieces and making sure they fit you properly. And also don’t afraid to take something classic!
