Gearing Up for the Experiment
Alright, so I saw all those paparazzi shots of celebrities wearing that fancy Dior foundation for Paris Olympics events. Curious if it really lived up to the hype, I hauled myself to the mall last Tuesday morning. Grabbed the bottle that matched my skin tone – cost me an arm and a leg, but whatever.
First Attempt Disaster
Tried applying it straight from the bottle like a rookie. Squirted way too much on my hand, slapped it on my face with fingers. Ended up looking like a greasy mannequin. Even my cat gave me that “WTF” stare. Washed it off immediately, super annoyed.
Switching Tactics
Dug out my old damp makeup sponge next day. Dabbed tiny dots on my forehead, cheeks and chin first. Started pressing and bouncing that sponge everywhere. Took forever, but finally got this thin layer that didn’t feel like plaster. Pro tip: moisturize first or it clings to dry patches like crazy.
The Final Check
Checked my face near the window – surprise! Skin looked kinda smooth without that cakey mess. Lasted through grocery shopping and my boring Zoom meetings. Didn’t melt off when I took out the trash in that afternoon heat either. Not gonna lie, it’s stupid expensive but performs better than my drugstore stuff.
So… Would I Recommend?
- Yes if you want that celeb-level finish for events
- No if you hate spending ages blending
- Maybe try a sample first before committing
Honestly, stars probably have makeup artists doing this for them. Us normals gotta practice that sponge technique like our life depends on it. Still fun to try though – felt fancy for a day!
